$500 seems a bit low, no? Would think a used iPhone X would still be worth at least $700-800.

iPhone XS / XS Max pre-order thread - starts September 14, ships September 21

If anyone is selling their iPhone X, let me know. I'll purchase one. I'll buy one for around $500 and can wait for your new iPhone to come in.
How do pre-order's work through the ATT Next plan? Just have to pay a small portion of what I owe in order to be upgrade eligible by turning in my device. Will they most likely go up Friday at 3am EST since I'm in the east coast? Any chance that the XS Max will sell out?
Yeah, I suppose it is hard to say. I haven't upgraded for over three years now so I'm on the old fear mongering side of things.
Surprisingly their site lists a SIM-free unlocked option right now, so it may be available day one
The XS/XS Max appear to be available sim free day one but the XR isn't.
Yeah so my mom and I upgraded to an iPhone 7 way back in fall at Costco where you could add a line. We just did that and had my sister's line removed and passed the new SIM card associated number to her while keeping my mom and I's number the same. My sister really doesn't use her phone to call, so she doesn't really care. We intend to do that again this year if they keep the promos again
they took all my info. Will run the card for the tax and order the new phone friday morning.
So what kind of an experience is it to pre-order an iphone? Is it like when you need tickets for beyonce and you gotta wake an our early to get queued and still have to cross your fingers to get in? Or can I just chill and get the phone I want somewhere friday morning? Never ordered an iphone before so I'm just wondering since I'm planning to get the xs max.

The app and website is usually slammed and you have to refresh constantly. You have to be pretty quick if you want it day one. Last year my wife got an iPhone X at launch, but I couldn't get past the Sprint verification, so it took about an hour to get my order through. I had to wait an extra month as a result.
Yes. Only time it doesn't work for me is if I have like a sucker in my mouth lol. Otherwise it's fantastic. Using a 5 now since I just sold my X. I miss the Face ID so much.
Keep in mind, Face ID will learn more about your face if you type in your passcode when it can't recognize your face.

You don't queue to preorder. You rock up at the website or use the Apple Store app at midnight Friday PDT. There's typically a lot of stock but it doesn't last that long as EST people start to wake up and drain stock. If you get your preorder wrapped up in the first few minutes of ordering going live you're almost guaranteed launch day delivery or one of the first appointments at your local Apple store. If you wait until the next morning you could be looking at 2 weeks for the most popular colors and storage options.
Also, Apple are launching in more territories than ever this time around. Stock may be more constrained than usual.
There will be no launch day walk-in stock or lines at the Apple stores. There were none last year either. It was all appointment only. Carrier store walk-in stock is usually quickly spoken for so don't rely on it.
Got the iPhone 8 for 21$/month last Black Friday (not even 2 months after its release) with Koodo, so roughly 500$+taxes in the end. I doubt we'll see such great deals with the XR.
Idk if i should try preordering through the Apple app on Friday, or if i should try via the Verizon store or Best Buy since i live very close to those. I really want the xs day 1
This is my first time with the iPhone Upgrade Program. It says that the phone is unlocked. Does that mean I can put another SIM when I travel without paying the phone off?
Is that true? I've gotten a lot of conflicting info on being able to jump from ATT to TMO. Apple says you might have to bring it in, a TMO store was no help, and various Reddit threads say you need to go to Apple, they close out your loan, refund you, then you put that towards a new loan. Really confused me. I'm on a 2008-era ATT grandfathered unlimited plan and I'm ready to jump. I was hoping I could just do that with my upgrade but Apple says you need to come in for that and I'd rather avoid the launch craziness.

- No in-store pickup option on preorder. Delivery only.
- Did not ship during launch week.
Then for whatever reason, the first week they kept having in-store pickup purchases available using the phone app. So I literally bought a second one on the phone that morning and cancelled the day-1 preorder on my phone while in the taxi on the way to the Apple Store. Shaved 1-2 weeks off of a delivery.
So I'm likely to preorder the XS but ???? if that really matters at all.

Grrrrrr. I want that XS Max, but I just got my iPhone 8 Plus at Sprint back in March, so I definitely won't be able to upgrade for a while.
I remember when the first iPhone came out, it either couldn't record video or the guy couldn't figure it out but I watched this guy taking like as fast as he could pictures at a sporting event and just thinking how crazy it was that would never catch on. Appstore was really what made it take off though
Does your mother need the better camera? Does she need 3D touch? Does she care about OLED vs LCD - would she notice?
If not, i'd go for the XR as the X has an older CPU.
