Damn I forget how beefy Sammy was. It's like a bodybuilder running in the outfield.
Its hilarious watching replays of players back then. Of course they did wear tighter uniforms in some cases but its laughable sometimes. Mcgwire looks like a freak.
I mean, how the fuck does a guy like that pee? Geez. Who is the biggest guy in mlb today? Does anyone even come close to the middle infielders in the late 90s? I remember Bret Boone being massive.

I still think it's some miracle that the Phillies were able to stay in the NL East that long. They haven't won a series since late July and they have a losing record this season when they play the Mets & Marlins.

Bret Boone was the smartest player of that era. He quietly disappeared before all that Balco shit went down. Looking back on it, he was clearly juicing, but he kind of avoided a lot of the noise that followed other players who stuck around like Andy Pettite.

Besides their first 10 games or so, Tampa has been remarkably good all season. I would put money on them if they were in the NL.
why has the attendance been down this year? what's going on exactly? it's depressing seeing teams in contention and not have the stadiums full.
