Team Rocket used to just break the 4th wall, now they have learned how to transcend art styles and its kind of scary. Like the most recent episode I did a bit of a double take here.

Id combine all the eevees into one character
Nah, we need unique characters - changing characters that aren't the pokemon trainer are frowned upon post-Sm4sh.

Primarina is this game's Bayonetta on the tier list. Except instead of killing opponents, she sings gently to them and comforts their emotional turmoil, giving rare companionship in a nihilist existence.

I wanted them to work like manga eevee where they can swap forms, which id assume would work like Shulk.

I think that'd run into hitbox issues, even if gamefreak would be game(freak) for letting a pokemon freely evolve/devolve/evolve again into a different form. Like Vaporeon has a huge tail while Jolteon has none.

None of the pokemon function anything like the original game counterparts so im not sure why letting them evolve is an issue. Especially when some do it without mega rings in Smash.
All of the eevees are almost the exact same size and rig, so changing it for jolteon seems inconsequential.

Which out of the Bowser/Ridley/K. Rool/Dedede baras of Smash would Incineroar most be likely to get along well with?
K. Rool is the kind of guy you can see yourself having a beer with, so probably him. Incineroar is a real chill cat and loves nothing more than hanging out in the bar and shooting the shit with a bunch of rogues stopping in town on their way to their next act of villainy

Ridley and Bowser would just want to beat the shit out of him and Dedede is an annoying troll who eats all your french fries even after you've told him to stop for the 9th time.

That adds up. And K. Rool being a pirate, he would know a thing or two about good grog.

3CPW Theory (3 characters per week Theory)

It's noticeable that they have been steadily giving us three characters per week (bar delays and catch up)

So we have 28 more characters left for updates (not including a newcomer tomorrow since I already counted this one) So we have 12 more weeks left until the game's release day.

It will take 10 weeks for us to catch up with all characters but it would leave us two more days for 10th week.

2 more characters plus

11th week could bring us 3 more characters

5 more characters (probably)

I'm not sure if Sakurai want to stop character updates during 11th week or finishing it during 12th week so add between 1-3 more characters.

So 6 to 8 more characters

While it is tearing me apart to watch such a good friend ally with Inceneroar, you are a kind and supportive friend.

thank you ;v;

This is factual

I was originally a Decidueye supporter if you remember but I just knew that it would be too good to be true if they get in. Incineroar made a lot of sense on many layers and he's more likely to be a wrestler character that Smash have been lacking (Bowser is a semi-wrestler tho). I don't mind to see characters with new archetype that doesn't exists in Smash Bros yet,

Upon researching grog - it's literally just watered down rum.

For what it's worth, it looks nice when you add some citrus and cinnamon.

Edit: I'm learning so much about grog! Per the wikipedia page -

In the early stages of British settlement in Australia, the word grog entered common usage, to describe diluted, adulterated, and sub-standard rum, obtainable from sly-grog shops. In the early decades of the Australian colonies such beverages were often the only alcohol available to the working class. Eventually in Australia, and New Zealand, the word grog came to be used as a slang collective term for alcohol, such as going to the "grog shop" to buy grog.

I don't really think they pick Pokemon for reasons like that though.

Incineroar is really fun and goofy, and would fit perfectly in a Poke-Smash or Pokken 2, but I just can't imagine it being significantly more popular than say, Typhlosion or Infernape 10 years from now. It's not like Lucario, who's never far from the spotlight.

In case you're curious, here's where Smash Ultimate stands in terms of its female fighter ratio pre-Direct. The percentages for the other games are up-to-date, if you were wondering (for reference, Fighting EX Layer actually passed up Killer Instinct with its recent reveals).
  • SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE
    • 73 characters (so far, counting Echo Characters)
    • 15 female fighters (characters with alts of the opposite gender are only counted if they're female by default & aren't the secondary character of a duo, so no Robin, Villager, Pokémon Trainer, Pikachu, Corrin, Wendy, or Ice Climbers)
      1. Samus
      2. Jigglypuff
        • I know it's never been specified, but I'll count Jigglypuff on account of the chosen alts. That plus you're more likely to get a female Jigglypuff than a male one within the mainline Pokémon games.
      3. Peach
      4. Daisy
      5. Sheik
      6. Zelda
      7. Lucina
      8. Zero Suit Samus
      9. Wii Fit Trainer
      10. Rosalina & Luma
      11. Mii Gunner
        • Yes, I'm fully aware that you can make the Miis whatever you want. But seeing as I'm counting the Mii Fighters individually, it's only fair that I recognize that Nintendo represents the Mii Gunner as female by default in both the promotional art as well as the Amiibo.
      12. Palutena
      13. Bayonetta
      14. Inkling
      15. Dark Samus
        • Dark Samus doesn't really have a gender, but I'll count her since female pronouns are typically used for her.
    • SSBU's female fighters make up 20.548% of its known roster (32.877% if you count Female Robin, Female Villager, Female Corrin, Leaf/Female Pokémon Trainer, Female Pikachu, Nana, Wendy, & the other 2 Miis)

With that said, here's the rankings based on pure percentages for female fighters compared to the entirety of their game's current roster (this also doubles as a TL;DR section)...
  1. TIED
    • Them's Fightin' Herds (100%)
    • Arcana Heart 3: LOVEMAX SIX STARS!!!!!! (100%)
    • SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy (100%)
  2. Skullgirls: 2nd Encore (85.714%)
  3. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round (61.745%)
  4. BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle (60%)
  5. TIED
    • BlazBlue: Central Fiction (50%)
    • UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late[st] (50%)
  6. TIED
    • Guilty Gear Xrd: REV 2 (40%)
    • ARMS (40%)
  7. Soul Calibur VI (36.842%)
  8. The King of Fighters XIV (36.207%)
  9. Tekken 7 (35%)
  10. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (32.353%)
  11. Fighting EX Layer (31.25%)
  12. Killer Instinct (31.034%)
  13. Injustice 2 (23.684%)
  14. Mortal Kombat XL (21.212%)
  15. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS [Default Genders Only] (20.690%)
  16. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate [Default Genders Only] (20.548%)
  17. TIED
    • Dissidia Final Fantasy NT (16.667%)
    • Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite (16.667%)
  18. Dragon Ball FighterZ (6.25%)

IIRC, he didn't say Incineroar, he just deconfirmed every other possible choice, leaving only Incinieroar as the likely one.

Though if I may ask, what is everyone's beef with Mr. Roar?
Its the most boring one out of the 3 starters from gen 7 and also its a return to the fire fighting trend that we all hoped they finally got over. oh, wait, my bad. its not a fighter, its a dark type

I'm mostly looking forward to Inceneroar's deconfirmation refreshing discussion around the roster in the same way that the Robin / Lucina trailer finally got people to shut up about the roster being such a sure thing for 3DS / Wii U. Especially when Vergeben has about 3% the credibility of Gematsu, leaks being discussed as facts is as silly as it is lame.

In short, it's nothing personal Mr. Roar

Actually I didn't say that but I'm saying that I'm okay with Incineroar being in if he have some wrestling moves since we don't really have any pro wrestler-based character in Smash Bros. What I meant about Incineroar made a lot of sense is it's upcoming roles in anime (they planned the anime in advance, etc, etc) and another things. Also Sakurai want to bring something new to the table, I suppose.

I mean, Vergeben never flat-out said it's Incineroar, so he could just squeak by. The only way you're gonna kill his Smash credibility is if Decidueye or Lycanroc get in.

All of the eevees are almost the exact same size and rig, so changing it for jolteon seems inconsequential.
There is totally a difference between temporarily going mega (something already temporary to begin with) without all the bells and whistles and temporarily evolving though. It's like the suggestions I've seen of Pikachu evolving into Raichu for the final smash. Reverting back would just be weird in a way that mega evolution isn't. One's a more acceptable break from mechanics than the other.

Also Vaporeon's tail is like twice as long as the others, much less Jolteon's tail nubs. The tail would need to be ignored for attacks if we just want it to be a shulk-styled thing, which just seems awkward.

Which is all to say I've thought that a fighter that permanently evolved into a better version of yourself but enough about sheik for the rest of the battle would be kind of interesting, and Eevee in particular having 3 avenues would be the ideal. Like all of them would share basic moveset, but specials would operate differently (flareon gets fire breath that works more like charizard, vaporeon gets a long reaching hydro pump with high end lag, jolteon has an even longer reacher thundershock that comes out fast but deal piddly damage and so on), hitboxes would be of different sizes (ie all have an up titlt with the tail but vaporeon's has the longest reach while jolteon is just a stab upward), stats would be different (flareon is slow but high damage & knockback, jolteon is very fast, vaporeon is a heavy boy) and so forth. But also this involves making 4 semiclones (or at least melee-styled) of each other with the base form just straight up being worse and that seems like a lot of effort for a gimmick fighter.
secondary thought was a fire emblem character whose gimmick is promoting into a better version of yourself.

Yup, I agreed. Also I want to point out that the datemines pointed it out that we are going to get few more female characters which are Prishe, Yuna and Tifa. That's big if they went ahead with Season Pass 2.

I don't know why you're so stuck on tail hitboxes when that's not something difficult to modify. I dont mean literally just Shulks changes in speed or jump etc, I mean using the radial menu to choose which form, which would obviously be balanced accordingly.

They dont have to be 100% completely different like Pokemon Trainer, but a single tail move is not something noteworthy.
