I will say their stories are about equal, but Mother 3 fixes the abysmal UI and menus, and more importantly removes the endless boring mazes filled to bursting with enemies that are always slightly too fast to run away from.
Not happening just like splatooS did not happen for 4. If we get Xenoblade it's elma.

You might have a point there. Mother 3 is the best playing game in the series.
But Earthbound captures a vibe that basically every indie/weird JRPG has tried to recapture since, with most failing. It's got a magic that allows me to ignore the faults.
Mother 3 is still a good game, but I wouldn't complain if they cut out all the Magypsy stuff as well as the arc where the monkey's getting tortured and abused.
Damn, isn't weird that we seem to enjoy the hype more than actually playing the games?

Also, re: the "indie" vibe, I think part of that is because the people making those games you're referring to grew up with EB and want to emulate it but focus only on superficial "weird" elements instead of the irreverence and heartwarmingness(?) at the game's core.
nobody was actively campaigning for Nintendo to localize that game, though
people have been bugging Nintendo about Mother 3 for over a decade now

Nah, Salsa's scenes are genuinely really interesting. Itoi did the "make the player do menial tasks to spark emotion" almost a decade before Papers Please.
And the Magypsies are great, I'm so into the weird Japanese trope of drag queen fairies, especially when the fairies are played as admirable and powerful.
Yeah, that's why I kinda groan at games that try to go for that. Undertale was the only one I thought successfully captured that tone, and that's probably because there was more going on than just eternal Saturn Valleys and Giygas shock value.
Most Earthbound-alikes just focus on the mix of wacky stuff like Saturn Valey and nightmarish stuff like Giygas. Very few actually capture the emotional core.

I agree with that schedule, although I wouldn't be surprised to see the Smash Direct during the last week of October.
Would only work if the Japanese version had been originally called: Mother: Earthbound.
Pretty much told everything they need to tell for that game Smash on the other hand hasn't told about and probably have more for characters to announce.
You can link your Nintendo Online account to a local Switch profile. You can also unlink the online account from the local profile. After Update 6.0.0, you can no longer unlink the online account from the local profile.
You will still be able to deactivate your account on one Switch to use on another one.
You won't be able to hop Nintendo Accounts with the same Switch User.
it means that Switch firmware 6.00 will be released the 18th there will be eshop maintenance on the 18th and you will no longer be able to unlink your Nintendo Account from a user on your Switch
You could previously unlink a Nintendo account from a user profile on a switch. You no longer will be able to.
You can still unlink that profile and the account from the Switch and relink to another Switch but you can't unlink your Nintendo account that's subscribed to the online service and relink it to every other profile on the Switch one by one.
