Well I've tried installing the demo twice now on my PC, but it just will not launch for me. Any ideas?
Anyone else not really impressed by the graphics? Running it at 1080p with everything maxed with AA maxed out as well and it looks... ok? I don't know what it is but I was more blown away by the videos than the actual game. I'm actually finding something like Wreckfest more visually appealing than this. Also lighting in Summer (or is it spring?) is waaay too bright.
Game runs flawlesly though, some great optimization on the PC font, never dropped a single frame from 60, and I love the scenery and the ambiance, except for the dumb commentator.
Running it on a 1080 Ti, 4670k.

The demo runs fantastically on my PC, thankfully. This and Spider-Man are gonna battle it out for my GotY.

Downloaded the demo, try to start it but I'm getting CTD's during the initial logos during the start up. Forza 7 and Horizon 3 work fine on my system.
What a waste of time that was.

How the hell can this run so damn well? Its just smooth where ever i look.

I had a similar thought as I had a external as my default drive. It was pretty warm to the touch so I wondered if it was overheating. Switched to the internal drive and saw same speeds so I knew that wasn't the issue though.
It's frustrating, IMO such issues could be countless combinations of bugs between the networking hardware and Xbox alike. I'd say only thing to do is keep working through it analytically, eliminating one possible problem as the cause at a time.

For anyone that loves (like me) high resolutions (and have a capable PC) this is my benchmark on 8K/30 and high settings:

It just keeps blowing my mind how good this looks. There's so much stuff going on the screen at once it's all kinds of crazy. The environmental reflections on the cars are some next gen kind of stuff too, go to bonnet view when you're driving past the fairground in the snow and.. wow. Really pleased the horsepower in the X is finally being utilised!
It's still downloading at 76% with 15 Mb/s. The Path of Exile 4GB patch was done in less than 5 minutes. Something's not right here :/
I would've suffered through worse if it meant playing Bloodborne! And that had awful framepacing to boot!
At least you have two options for playing FH4 at 60fps. Praise the sun.
The intro was amazing, game runs good at 4k max on my pc. I wish someone made a racing game that was like the intro where the races change dynamically and instantly after completing, thats the best thing I've ever seen done. They should give an option like that so you can continue racing non stop, never liked open world that much.
I crashed twice during the welcome to forza sequence. I then turned the graphics down to medium preset which is what the game recommended but I was like fuck medium. I managed to play the first two seasons on medium and then I hit start as winter seemed to be finishing and it crashed again. No message, just back to the desktop.
I'm redownloading the game now and will try again this evening.
I've never had a game crash because I turned up the graphics too high so I hope that's not what's happening. MS created Direct X after all so you know they're software wizards. /s
Hmm that's odd, I'm 50/50 then if it was the bug or not.
I run the game through Steam with GloSC and it works like a dream with my DS4.
Played a few races and it plays amazing just like 3 did. Thats one meaty demo, however i dont think im gonna be buying it day 1. I kinda prefer the aesthetic of australia, and it just feels too similiar. Graphically im a bit underwhelmed, playing in 1440p ultra at around 80 to 100fps, game look decent but not amazing, popin is quite bad, and it looks kinda flat during summer. Is msaa covering vegetation? At 4x msaa 1440p there is still plenty of shimmering on the trees.
Done a couple of races, the stuntman job and now about to do the scramble.
I already know I'm going to lose hundreds of hours to this game like I did with FH3 and I'm going to love every minute of it. Just driving around the countryside and going into drone mode has me stupidly excited to see what they do with Fable as well. Playground Team One has set the bar pretty fucking high!

Going to take some serious willpower for me to wait until the release date but I want that to be my first experience playing it.
I'll be playing on PC with a 165hz monitor so hopefully i can get a bit above 60!
There is a bug in the Windows platform which might cause a small percentage of downloads to be larger than expected. A fix is releasing next Tuesday via Windows Update, before the full game comes out.
In the meantime, it should complete on its own soon. You can reduce the chances of this happening by not downloading any other apps / games or updates at the same time as the demo.

Why have I seen this? I didn't know I need this in my life until 60 secs ago.
It's amazing. Quality mode is jaw droppingly beautiful and performance felt like a very smooth 60. If there were big drops I didn't feel them. I like how this feels more like FH1.

Thanks for responding, gave up after 47gb, had nothing but problems with the Microsoft store for years now.
I can't believe they have still not got the store working properly yet.
