Glad there's finally confirmation. Can't wait to finally watch this thing tomorrow. With it being 35 minutes long still, I can't imagine any of the games/content in it was cut out (though things like "available right after the Direct" for things like the Mega Man 11 demo got changed to something like "available now").

My predictions as follows (in no particular order):

3DS
  • 5 minutes or less
  • Mostly just going over stuff we already knew, so Luigi's Mansion remake and Bowser's Inside Story remake will feature. BiS will probably get a release date.
  • There will likely be a short blurb for Yo-Kai Watch Blasters.
  • I do expect to see an announcement for the localization of Persona Q2, but I don't think we'll see anything totally new unless it's really small.
Nintendo Switch Online
  • ~5 minutes
  • The date is known now (9/19), and we are getting a free trial of it too.
  • Other 10 NES games are shown
  • Cloud saves talked about
  • Changes coming to the smartphone app to support more games. I expect that 3rd party developers could create their own stuff to use within the app too.
  • eShop discounts are detailed. I'm guessing that if a game is on sale, you get a deeper discount, similar to PS Plus. Additional deals on first party stuff is wishful thinking, but I would like to see 10% off on digital pre-orders of Nintendo-published stuff.
  • Not expecting free games outside of the retro games each month.
Switch
  • Smash newcomer is revealed. I feel like it'll be a Pokemon for this Direct (though I don't think it'll be Incineroar).
  • Super Mario Party gets new gameplay footage.
  • Pokemon Let's Go gets some more footage. Maybe we see new Megas?
  • Yoshi (now Yoshi's Crafted World, per leaks) gets shown. Spring 2019.
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses gets shown. Spring 2019.
  • Daemon X Machina also gets shown. Spring 2019.
  • Lots of Animal Crossing teasing going on, so I guess we're getting a new Animal Crossing? I'm not holding my breath, but if it does get announced, it would probably just have a release window of 2019.
  • If New Super Mario Bros. U DX is indeed real, it'd be announced here, likely for release in Q1 2019.
  • Civilization VI gets announced (which we already knew thanks to leaks). November 16th.
  • First footage of the Switch version of Dragon Quest XI will likely be shown here. 2019 release window.
  • Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD is available right after the Direct.
  • Mega Man 11 demo gets a shout-out.
  • Sports Party gets formally announced for November 15th, per leaks.
  • Diablo III gets a release date of November 2nd, from the Target listing.
  • Warframe gets a release date in November.
  • South Park: The Stick of Truth releases on the eShop sometime this month for $40. You get a discount if you own The Fractured But Whole.
  • Starlink: Battle for Atlas gets a trailer.
  • I imagine that some other upcoming 3rd party stuff like Dark Souls Remastered will also get shout-outs here.
  • I don't expect to see FF Crystal Chronicles here. That was likely reserved for Sony's TGS deal despite being announced for Switch.
  • I don't expect much in terms of indie stuff since we had two back-to-back indie blowouts recently.
  • Not sure what to expect in terms of other 3rd party announcements.
I think some things were cut out in order to let the online in and remain at 35 minutes, I don't think the online was intended to be part of the direct (except perhaps the online games selection).
Looking at their "tomorrow's Direct will also talk about online" announcement (which WAS NOT tweeted last time the Direct was announced), I think they intended doing an online related Direct separately. Otherwise they would have also mentioned online in the original Direct tweet, and not only "upcoming DS and Switch games".
I really hope this will be only around 5 minutes long as you predict.

2019 is shaping up to be an excellent year for Switch.

Could be potentially better than 2017. Although, it's kind of difficult to have a better year than 3D Mario + 3D Zelda.

Are you basing that on things that most of us are aware of, like Pokemon, AC, Metroid Prime 4, presumably Retro's Star Fox, Bayonetta 3, etc. or do you know about other big things that will be coming next year?

Oh yeah Fire Emblem and Yoshi too.

Yeesh it's already a packed year, and we probably have way more announcements coming.

Top down Zelda in 2019 confirmed!!

Or at least thats how I interpreted Emily.

Alternatively, it's "better than 2017" and she specifically mentioned it's hard to beat a year with a 3D Mario and Zelda. So in order to beat it 2019 will have a Majora's mask style game using the BOTW engine and a SMG2 style game with the Mario Odyssey engine.

Hard to imagine 2019 NOT being better than 2017 for Switch. We have Fire Emblem, Yoshi, and Pokemon confirmed for 2019. Metroid Prime 4 I'd say is pretty certain. And now Animal Crossing and Star Fox GP being heavily rumored. Toss in Pikmin and a 2D Zelda, and yeah, you have a hell of a year.

Those are some claims to make for sure. However, it shouldn't be too surprising tbh: we know Pokémon gen 8 is coming, Fire Emblem will be spring 2019, and hints point toward Animal Crossing arriving in 2019 (which makes a ton of sense considering the longevity of that title). That's already 2 megaton games in 2019. They'd need only two or so interesting, unannounced titles to rival 2017 (assuming the abovementioned games live up to expectations). It'll be a great year, I think.

I'm guessing the Nintendo 64 Classic will have the English translation of Sin and Punishment on it...it was only released for the Virtual Console and that's shutting down.

I'm guessing:

1) Paper Mario
2) Super Mario 64
3) Pokemon Stadium 1 (or 2)
4) Super Smash Bros.
5) Pokemon Snap
6) 1080 Snowboarding
7) F-Zero X
8) Wave Race 64
9) Mario Golf
10) Mario Kart 64
11) Mario Party 1 (or 2 or 3)
12) Mario Tennis
13) Excitebike 64
14) Yoshi's Story
15) Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
16) Donkey Kong 64
17) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
18) The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
19) Star Fox 64
20) Diddy Kong Racing

With the secret game being:

21) Sin and Punishment English translation

...but who knows. I'd love to see more Rare games like Banjo-Kazooie and a few third-party like Star Wars Rogue Squadron mixed in there.

You know if they actually did manage to get Diddy Kong Racing in there in its pure, unaltered state, then there's basically no limits to what Rare games they could include, considering that Banjo and Conker are in its roster.

Hard to imagine that Prime 4 isn't 2019 too.

Hasn't Mario Party 1 not been rereleased due to the hand injury thing?

So are we expecting anything specific on the following?
  • Metroid Anything
  • Fire Emblem Anything
  • WiiU Ports (TMS, Wonderful 101, etc.)
  • Advance Wars Anything
  • Other Exclusives
  • New Third Party Games
