iPad 10.5 Pro (original) is probably my most used device (accounting that a lot of my "phone" usage is through my watch and Siri)

iPads are so fucking good right now. Though will probably hang on to my Pro for at least another year or two.
what do you use your iPad Pro for, out of interest? Do you use the keyboard case? I know a lot of artists that use it exclusively for art.

The 10.5 pro is still an incredible device, until Apple drops that OLED iPad Pro I think I will hang on to this for at least another year

So dual sims would allow me to have 2 numbers? I have business and personal number and I have to run a separate voice over ip for the business line which just doesn't work great. How does it work with messages etc...?

There's absolutely no reason to believe the notch is going anywhere. It's very likely going to be a staple for quite a few releases.

Seizing the opportunity to ask something: How many more years would you guys give until the 10.5 Pro is "outdated" (more like obsolete). Would you get one regardless of what is announced tomorrow?

Thinking about getting myself a 10.5 Pro because - and if they do announce it - the next iPad Pro will probably be too expensive for me now, and the 10.5 has an acceptable price tag and payment plan available for me.

I'm just kinda thinking that the next one might be too much of an improvement, specially cpu-wise, and I will be left with a not so poweful gadget...

Depending on what you do, several years at the minimum.

The 10.5" iPad Pro is a beast that will likely be usable for the next 5 years. Thing has more CPU performance than a lot of MacBooks.

The iPad Pro has more than enough power to run the latest version of iOS buttery smooth for a few years, it's raw power isn't touched unless you use some very intensive apps

the X2 and the Bigger version are suppose to have 2 cameras like the X currently does and I think both are still 12MP? Why haven't the megapixels gone up yet
Still the same size sensor. So increasing pixels increases possibility of crosstalk and pushes physics limits.

They could increase the sensor size... but honestly 12Mp is just fine. That is a 14x11 at 300 DPI (pro print quality) and like 16x24 at reasonable print quality (175 DPI). Same reason they stuck with 8Mp forever. There's little practical reason to go higher when most will never print that big from their phone. Then they came up with the subpixel tech that let them easily hit 12Mp in the same sensor size.

10.5 on iOS 12 is lag free. Like... fast as hell.. I can't see it slowing down much next year on 13. And if you aren't doing anything major I see it lasting through iOS 14 as a decent experience. Going through 5 major OS revisions on a tablet its unheard of. That's how amazing this thing is (typing from it now)

My Air 2 lasted years and is still kicking ass, so your iPad Pro will last a lot longer.

iOS 12 on the A9 is flawless, and the A9 is as old now as the iPhone 4 was for iOS 7. The exponential performance growth we saw for years on mobile devices is over - we've officially reached the point where mobile CPUs are "good enough" and comparable to what we have in laptops for most uses.

I'll admit, I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to finally upgrade from my ancient 5S.

I wonder if the new high end phones will offer a good reason to upgrade from a 7 Plus. I want to upgrade but this phone is still fine..

Been looking for a time to upgrade from my iPhone SE. Brilliant little device, but it wasn't what I wanted when I got it, but I had no choice at the time as my 4s has died and I couldn't wait a week till payday. Still been a much better device than I ever thought it would be, but I need a bigger screen. Looks like this will be the perfect time.

Really excited to get back on iOS. Lost my X so had to use this god awful Galaxy S8 for the past month. It's a shame they save the snazzy colors for the cheaper C line. Would love a dark blue XS Plus.

Several things I'm looking for tomorrow:
AirPower release date: it was announced last year's iPhone event.
Will they have a second generation FaceID?
We know both Xs and Xs Max will have better cameras, but in what ways?
If the Xr/Xc is prices at around $800, which one of the last year model will take over the 'cheaper' one and at what price?
Apple Watch Series4: what's new beside the bigger screen?
Where will they sell the dual sim phones?
Will they finally have a proper dark mode on iPhone?
Will they show a sneak peek on the new Mac Pro design?

This is where I'm at as well. I'd love to upgrade but if the leaks are to be believed, this looks like a really underwhelming cycle. It seems like it's just an slightly higher spec'd iPhone X with the option of a larger screen. Their main focus appears to be the 6.1 inch model which I have no interest in personally.

I'm hopeful they will announce something that sets the Max (silly name) apart but I'm not holding my breath. Lol.

Obviously not a real clone of the final but seems aight.

Can someone explain what dual sims are? Is that a non US thing?
Like the name implies it lets you use two sim cards and thus two phone numbers on the same device. Multple phone numbers (e.g. work / personal or just multiple networks / contracts), coverage changes, temporary sim use when traveling, etc.

2 SIM cards - like maybe one that has cheap international calling, one that has your regular voice and data plan.
Or one's your personal number, one's your work number.
Or when there's cheaper / free calling within certain provider networks.

These days things are so much more than phone calls. I'd kill for switchable user accounts. I use my phone at work for slack, email etc. I'd love to be able to flip to a mode where those apps all disappear so no notifications - my email doesn't get clogged up with work stuff (currently working around that by using outlook for work, and mail for home but would prefer not to).

Having separate work/home phone numbers doesn't rank high for me (I know a lot of people want/need that for separate voice/data plans, or roaming)
