Not necessarily. It can also include a stage, items, music etc related to whatever is revealed.Does that mean we could have more than one character revealed in the Direct then?
It is likely though.

Sounds sorta like the stage rule.A series having music revealed before a new character means that series has no new non-echo character to be announced.
Doesn't indicate in one way or another. A week of site items could be character, stage, music 1, music 2, echo. There could even be basic items we know about like known pokeballs but if the background is a new stage from the direct they can't show it.Does that mean we could have more than one character revealed in the Direct then?

Hell yeah, throw Kazuya in as well.Gimmie that Tekken Tag-themed CGI trailer with Icineroar, Heihachi, Ken & Ryu.
Wonder Red punches people, so add him too.
There's no lie there, though!
Add him too yeah why not.
They probably did this because they wanted to adhere to the music rule. Imagine if they had a Xenoblade song go up today for example and then revealed Elma in the Direct, it would be against the rules. There's no lie there, though!
It definitely does sound like they may have just swapped the current week's updates for next week's, so if the Direct is indeed rescheduled for this coming Thursday, the intended updates that were supposed to be put up in the wake of the Direct's original date could start going up then.
I'm looking forward to you having a Goku Paul avi when Skull Kid gets in ;-)Gotta admit, I like Music Tuesdays when they aren't full of cursing disappointment. The Music Rule is a bit of a burden, though at least us it saves us a lot of time that we would otherwise use speculating about hopeless characters.
I thought we agreed that was too far ;_;I'm looking forward to you having a Goku Paul avi when Skull Kid gets in ;-)
I'm not humoring your bullshit. They probably did this because they wanted to adhere to the music rule. Imagine if they had a Xenoblade song go up today for example and then revealed Elma in the Direct, it would be against the rules.
I made the photoshop and everything
yeah, Brock oughta know there's only one The Music Rule
The swapping weeks thing is your theory, not mine.
lol, Goku Kirby is cute but the threat of Paul still lurksI made the photoshop and everything
Nah, you've been behaving well. You'll get Goku Kirby.
Hey guys what's going o-
I know I said every blog post after Bowser could easily be renumbered but I didn't expect it to be THIS much
I feel sorry for everyone in that Direct thread who were like "thank god hope they give Smash a break" lmao
I really don't understand how people thought that was an actual option.I feel sorry for everyone in that Direct thread who were like "thank god hope they give Smash a break" lmao
Yeah that would probably work and is probably what I'll do when it airs. The stream usually starts airing 30 minutes before it starts to just start it like around 29 minutes and have it play as normal. So, I'm going to be at work during the Direct (assuming it starts at 3 pm PST on Thursday) and am wanting to wait until I get home and watch it before reading any news on it. What's the best way to do this without seeing anything? Can I just have the stream window open and refresh it after it has aired?
please do not pollute my sweet evil old man's airspace with the wackest gen 7 starterGimmie that Tekken Tag-themed CGI trailer with Icineroar, Heihachi, Ken & Ryu.
Okay cool, that was the plan. I could stream from my phone at work, but I can't connect the wifi and I don't want to risk a Smash reveal having to buffer. Thanks!Yeah that would probably work and is probably what I'll do when it airs. "Hello, welcome to the Direct. Smash isn't actually our big holiday title, we actually have four more. Please be excited for new entries in the Star Fox, Metroid, F Zero, and Mother series. Also Final Fantasy VII remake is releasing on Switch... Available right now."nI really don't understand how people thought that was an actual option.
"We here at Nintendo are going to ignore our holiday flagship title three months away from release."
Smash Wii U also had exclusive directs amd appearances in general directs...
Two newcomers, Two stages, two memories. So what do we reckon.
Newcomer is guaranteed but what else beyond that; music? Echo? Stage? Memory?
One thing that I just realized I want is for replays to work properly after balance patches, so that there's some way the game can load up previous balance patch values and correctly recreate old fights. I'll be very sad if replays in the final game don't work like that

It's the Music Rule, not the "music rule theory"
If a franchise gets a song shown on the blog than it generally means it won't get a newcomer. However it can get an Echo Fighter. So for example because we already got a Zelda remix we might not get Skull Kid.
Some non-sense.
