No, we just hit a tipping point where we realized we had amassed a massive post count over nothing, then decided to just go further.
So what Nintendo announcements usually get you guys the most hyped?
For me, it goes:
Tier 1: Smash, Pokemon Splatoon (the undisputed BIG 3)
Tier 2: Mario Kart, Mario, Animal Crossing, Xenoblade, new franchises
Tier 3: Zelda, Kid Icarus
The rest are just meh for me personally.

Nothing sirious has leaked because there was never any new major announcements to begin with. Hopefully i'll eat my words. This year is set, and they would wanna keep a major new announcement to VGA 2018(like bayo3 last year) or for january 2019 direct. Remember bayo1-2 port was announced just 2 months beforehand. Same can happen for metroid prime trilogy hd etc to fill Q1 2019

I mean not for THIS direct its not just in general other leaks regarding dmc5 and capcom stuff has come true and hd collection for switch was part of it so we can only hope.

People really need to check their expectations with the Mario Party series. It's almost "Xenoblade 2 designs" levels of absurd in that it takes up 95% of the game's discussion around here.

Someone posted a tweet of a Treehouse employee talking up the Direct last week, I believe. "I can't wait to show you some of the things we have been working on tomorrow".
I'd love this, but I think this or MP4 could debut at Game Awards this December.
the people discussing that, exactly like those discussing the xenoblade 2 designs, were never interested in either of those games anyway, they're just kneejerking
They could do like a 30 sec gameplay teaser in the direct and then say see the rest during game awards or somethin
People forget Mario Party 10 sold 2m as a Wii U title. I, like, actively dislike Mario Party but it's gonna do disgustingly well.

I think that some people are frustrated because they are at a moment in their live when they can't play with their relatives like they used to and/or don't have friends interested in that.
However, saying that Nintendo is shooting itself in the foot is absurd. It is secondary.
A silly gaming magazine from my childhood claimed that Golden Sun started as a Harry Potter-related thing.

Super Mario Party is going to be a MONSTER in sales.

Same. WB is sitting on a gold mine and it seems like they have no idea.
As someone who has fond memories of playing Mario Party on the N64 but hasn't touched the series since, I'm intrigued by the new instalment.
I love the look of it, but I don't have a lot of people I can play with anymore, so I'm not sure there's going to be enough there for me. :(
