Yeah just like OOT I'll be a sucker for every remaster they ever do.
Nvidia Shield, iOS and Android say hi.For all those years of people begging nintendo to go third party, they're the last modern console owner to avoid doing so. Oh, the irony.
Uh Oh, We got a Japanese Culture Expert on the premise.
Well, if you ignore mobile I guessFor all those years of people begging nintendo to go third party, they're the last modern console owner to avoid doing so. Oh, the irony.
And if mobile OSes count, sony has been doing that for along time too. You know exactly what I meant.
Is the headline just for the Unties unit publishing a Switch title? Because that's not the first title or time they publish a Switch game, nothing new there.
Not really. SOE used to do PC games etc back in the day. Sony is a huge group and the divisions are pretty much separate, with their own entity, accounts, etc.
Ah that reminds me just how slick the Vita looks compared to Switch. Couldn't be doing with that tiny screen anymore though.
Yep. Back then most sites even reported on this that Tiny Metal was being published by Unties. It was part of the big announcement that SME was getting into indie game publishing. Is the headline just for the Unties unit publishing a Switch title? Bravo :)I don't know how much the rest of you know about console war culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. Console warriors aren't like normal consumers, who'll will just buy the best products regardless of who makes them. To console warriors, if you publish a game on a competing platform, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is that the team-Sony console warriors, after hearing about this, are not going to want to purchase any more Sony products, nor will they scour the internet looking for team-Xbox or team-Nintendo warriors to troll. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Sony has alienated an entire market with this move.
Sony, publicly apologize and cancel The Midnight Sanctuary for Switch or you can kiss your business goodbye.
Sony gives us the Undies and Nintendo sends us the Nundies.
Sony online Entertainment was sold a few years back.Sony as a corporation is convoluted, but I think I have this right-
There's the PS4 division that makes games exclusively for that system, but will fund/publish games and let them be on PC too like Street Fighter V and Nioh. Sony Music has a label called Unties and is bringing games like "The Midnight Sanctuary" and "Tiny Metal" to Switch/ PS4 and PC. Sony Online Entertainment makes Everquest and other titles, and while their games can pop up on Sony consoles, they're mostly PC focused. Sony Forwardworks is making new mobile games with Sony's console IP's- Wild Arms, Everybody's Golf (Hot Shots), Parappa the Rapper and more exclusively for the Asia market (they have no plans at all to bring them to the west).
That's separate from their previous cell phone initiative- Playstation Mobile which was around from 2012-2016 and ran on select phones and the Vita. The games on it, like Tokyo Jungle Mobile, cannot be downloaded anymore even if you bought them.

Thanks. Added an edit to my post.
Ah. Thanks for the clarification.SOE doesn't exist anymore.
ForwardWorks is part of the PlayStation/PS4 division in terms of management hierachy, but it's fair to say they're not under the same expectations or business goals.
