What is the deal with Echo fighters? I mean, they've been here the whole time, we just called them clones. But all of a sudden, everyone loves them! Makes me wish I could get away with something like that. New girlfriend comes in, and she sees me with another woman, she says "Jerry, are you cheating on me?" I say "of course not, dear! This is my Echo girlfriend!" She looks mad, and says "What's an Echo girlfriend, Jerry" and I says "Ask Sakurai!"

Cloud: A deconstruction on player characters and an analysis of how pretending to be someone else just leaves you weaker in the end.
Lightning: A character who decides she will kill the entire world so she can be trapped in ice for all time instead of turning into a zombie (the benefits here seem questionable at best) and then who does a complete 180 on this plan after an annoying 12 year old makes a terrible analog that isn't deep at all. After deciding not to kill the entire world, Lightning does nothing in the entire rest of the game.
Iconic? Maybe. I'd argue Noctis and Lightning are on the same level.
Terra is meh. I have nothing against female characters. As I said I much preferred Celes.
You can easily tell when someone hasn't played a FF game yet still acts like they know the character.

I've always wanted to talk about potential clones. Finally happy Sakurai pulled the Echo Fighters thing so I can without the ridiculous "slot" complaints.

Am I the only one who thinks it's not coming? I'm not sure if they'll officially announce it's cancellation or not, but I am pretty sure they're beyond the point of airing it. At this point, they'd either have a 5 minute direct or they'd have to re-build it from the ground up with new information that they weren't planning on showing off just yet. Not to mention, parts of Japan are still in rubble so they may cancel it outright out of respect for the victims and their families. I also don't expect an announcement today because some people would surely cry "hypocrite!" if they cancelled for the earthquake and then made an announcement on 9/11.
It just seems like we're at the point of no return at this point. It was Monday or nothing. Face it folks, the Direct is never coming. It's cancelled. I'm sure we'll get a Pokémon Direct and a Smash Direct later on (probably in November). But this general Nintendo Direct isn't czoning ever.

Noctis is basically just a Cloud clone who the writer realizes is cardboard every so often and has him crack a joke to compensate before going right back to being Cloud.
What exactly did you expect them to do? Its probably one week later as expected.

I hope they don't waste too much time on Smash. It literally can't be anymore hype than it is now. Just play the newcomer trailer and that's it.
