FFXIII may suck, but Lightning isn't as bad as people make her out to be. She's an innocent bystander to that bad game.
Guys, I think this threads insanity has finally gotten to Jonneh, he has finally snapped! Call Reggie, that way the Direct will be pushed foward to save Jonneh!
I usually direct my hate for a character in XIII to Snow, I fucking hate his smug face.
Lightning is pretty cool, even if they ruined her design in Returns imo.
Shes not a marry sue lol. I think the reason some dont like her is that they dont like the story, so some of her bits fall flat. Mary sue she is not though, she does have some pretty obvious flaws

She's hardly a power fantasy. She's badass but she spends most of the game babysitting Hope because she had to be the mother figure for some reason
I'm not saying she is, I'm saying this is how people usually justify disliking her. If she's a "Mary Sue" and the director's pet, so are Cloud, Squall, Noctis.
Let's create an online petition to change Cloud to Lightning. Smash Ultimate would be above the 100% ultimate. Perhaps 105% ultimate.

I think people are just confused as to why Nintendo would so vehemently stick to the typical one-day "announcement-to-release" period for a Direct we know is coming already. Frankly, Nintendo has always been a very stubborn company so I'm not exactly surprised that they'd decide against giving timely updates as to the progress of the Direct.

God every time the story was from his pov it made me angry, he is a awful character.
And then they tried to make him into Punished Snow in Returns, didn't work.
I bet the tweet will read something like this..

Lightning is too straightforward of a character for her to be genuinely terrible. She is basically boiled down to "she is a serious woman that forced herself to be mature and grow up fast in order to take care of her younger sister". That's basically it. I'd say that the only legitimately silly part of her is the Lumina stuff.
