People not wanting Smash Bros in General Direct apparently don't understand how marketing works. It's one of their biggest game for this year and asking them to not market the game sounds incredibly petty or stupid.
To be fair, though, I think Smash will have (almost, depending on the time it still gets) gotten more direct/presentation time than those two combined by the time the game launches. Not that I think they shouldn't be presenting stuff about it, mind you.
No smash = more time for them to show us how they went into craft shops to get the idea and feel of the materials used on Crafted World.

But yeah just because I don't want it, doesn't mean I don't expect it.
My most anticipated title is 'Space Harrier', but because it was one of my most played games in Wii, and since I disconnected the console from my setup, I really miss my daily run in this game.
But I'm also highly hyped with the new 'Phantasy Star' release, only for the automap feature. This, in a dungeon crawler, is a game changer :)
If Smash wasn't in the Direct there wouldn't magically be more shit you DO want. You're basically hoping Nintendo puts less stuff in the Direct, just cause.

Last week when Nintendo Life did the "rumor Direct was coming" didn't Nintendo announce the Direct that same day??
Sounds like spite, similar to the anti-echo crowd that think echoes are taking legit slots away.
A full week delay was predictable, but unnecessarily long in my opinion. Especially when most Japanese game companies went back to business as usual last Friday.

I get it that some Nintendo fans are tired of seeing Smash Bros taking most of Direct times, etc but I don't think Smash would take that much for this Direct tho.
