What the fuck lmao. That was tense as hell. I really thought those kids were going to be beaten to death. Jimmy was terrifying.

I loved seeing Kim's absolute delight in the opening discussing obscure law. She has been pursuing a greater ambition her entire life and the sooner she dumps the Jimmy anchor the better. I think while Kim is still romantically tied to Jimmy, she's professionally jumping ship. She's already scored a much more better and lucrative position for her career.

In a weird twist, I hated Hamlin in Season 1 but now I feel bad for this guy. He's losing his company and career while burdened with the guilt of a close friend's suicide and therapy cannot help. That's just dark.

Gus' voice was.....*shiver*

Kai is a goner.

The upside-down pinata camera angles were awesome!

Question: Is the workspace for the German construction crew the same laundromat building? I'll have to rewind and check, but if that's the case I would think that means a month or two between episodes as they've scrubbed that place clean and put in those housing units.

Definitely a scattered table-setting episode that was kind of all over the place from scene-to-scene, but man, every scene was great. Don't think there was a slow scene in the entire episode. That Jimmy/Howard scene was especially great.

Something must happen to delay Gus's meth lab considerably, right? I feel like in Breaking Bad it was implied to be recently finished, but that's like five years from now.

I don't know if it was necessarily brand new in BrBa. My read of it was that Gus was just waiting for the right person to come along to be his meth supplier

I don't think he would have been in a rush to build it just to let it sit idle. Unless Gale had been cooking all that time, but I don't remember that being the case (though my memory is hazy).

They show the equipment being delivered / final assembly basically in BB right before Walt is invited to come check out the lab.

There is a scene where it's all wrapped in plastic and there are boxes everywhere; IIRC it's implied Gale just finished building the lab?

Yeah, I've been thinking about the lab timing too. I went back and watched that scene in 305.

-The laundromat is running full steam, so it clearly isn't Day 1 of operations.
-All of the equipment has (seemingly) just been delivered, unused
-Gus says, "I've owned the place for years" or something to that extent.

Now, Gus has already owned the place for a year or two, right? So even 2 years away would be 4, enough to say "I've owned it for years"

Mike said tonight it would take something like 6-8 months to build, but he'd guess 10. So I would think they run into a problem of some sort, during or after construction.

Don't forget that because of his associations with the Cartel, that Gus has to take in product from them as well as from local dealers to continue his clandestine business. Not to mention, he specifically refused Gale's offers to cook for an undisclosed reason, especially considering how there doesn't seem to be a competing product for Walt and Jesse's blue meth when they started out.

The lab is really only relevant once Gus puts into motion his plans to create a sustainable drug business where he controls everything, kill off the Juarez Cartel, and kill off any competing dealers in his territory.

Is Howard turning into the Rickety Cricket of BCS? Pull yourself together, man.

Cut him off, Kim.

We're really watching two separate shows -- "Jimmy McGill, Flim Flam Man" and "Bad" -- that have close to zero overlap, but I'm totally fine with that.

The whole super lab story has been spellbinding. It reminds me of the train heist in BB, where a plan is obsessively laid out and perfectly executed, only to introduce major complications late in the game. Now with Kai in the mix, AMC has a third show featuring the walking dead.

I've been sour on the all the Gus and related cartel things but the tease of things to come with the german guys was pitch perfect. Actually, the entire episode as great at finally setting up a foundation for a post-Chuck world all around.

There were a couple of great exchanges in this episode.

First, Mike and his daughter-in-law:

"You left me quite the mess," she says, in a shot that captures the well-manicured entryway to nice home in a good neighborhood.

"Yeah, I can see that."

...and then the Jimmy/Howard conversation.

Also, I feel like Jimmy's going to badly screw over Kim... which I guess isnot unexpected, but I don't wanna see it :)

Yeah... It never occurred to me how it is possible to make the mere sight of a pinata very threatening HAHAHA!

Yeah i actually enjoyed this one more than last week, Gus's insanely obvious monologue aside - which was all right but beneath the show's usual quality.

It works for Gus though. I don't think his story was 100% true.

Woah.. was I being naive during Fring's soliloquy? Are you implying that the coati in his story was not a coati at all, but a person? .. the way he said that he *thought* it was a coati, and then just going on with the story without any mention of a confirmation of his guess (like a stealth brag).. was the coati just a stand-in for something more troubling? Does this reveal what he thinks of humans he considers his enemies, that they're just animals?

I think Gus is a business man. I think he knows how to embellish the truth. He came from a poor country, and he probably does like whatever that fruit was he mentioned. He probably did see coatis before. I think he made everything else up. I think he's egotistical and twisted to the point where he makes up stories about killing animals as a kid to scare a man in a coma who likely can't even hear him.

The final scene went quickly from one of the most horrifying scenes in the show (legit thought that they'd beat up Jimmy) to one of the best.

Almost disappointed that they didn't get beaten up, but I understand why Jimmy opted not to.

Also, I forgot that Huell appeared in previous seasons!

Now it's time for the Irish dude to come back.

What a great episode. Great scenes with just about everyone. "FUCK YOU JIMMY" was out of nowhere and so damn good

I feel like Mesa Verde ends up with HHM somehow, not sure yet if it's with or without Kim.

I can't tell what Jimmy's intention was when he asked about the figure when talking about Geraldine's will. Whether he was disappointed that he couldn't scam it or happy that it went to the right person. Such a great scene

That scene is a flashback tho, so we don't know exactly when it takes place

Of all the people to have a monologue perfectly suited to the situation its gonna be Gus especially in the context of Hector and what he stands did.
