That there will definitely be a newcomer in the Direct. The three missing posts are probably:
- The trailer from the Direct.
- The newcomer's character trailer.
- The memories post of the newcomer.
- A stage to go along with the newcomer.
- An echo fighter also revealed in the Direct (assuming they wouldn't have a memory post either).
r_n analyzed the leak more and we both concluded it was full of crap. it fails to give seperate Karate Joe updates (like the memory stuff) their own numbers, instead they were all numbered 134 like his supposed fighter of the day blog post
theres also the fact the video trailer is in the folder as oppose to being on youtube (site doesnt host videos)
Didn't Wario's update mention Gold? Was that a memory they uploaded for him or am I mistaken?
It doesn't bury it at all; the leak already buried itself because the file names were one number off. If that leak was real, we would have to assume that Karate Joe's memory post would be posted before his reveal trailer or his 30-second character trailer, which won't happen.
I feel like if 136 or whatever is an Echo, it'll be another Simon/Richter deal

That was a special case (because the game released the same day), which will probably be repeated when Luigi's Mansion is released in October and when Let's Go Pikachu releases in November.
Or maybe a Robin/Lucina deal where we get a newcomer and an echo of a different character from the same series?
I think we'll have a newcomer(s) and echoes and they just updated the numbering for this week because these posts don't seem like they're planned too far in advance based on the typos

It's best to assume that we're only getting one new character guys. There can only be two if neither of them have a memories post (which is pretty unlikely), because one of those three posts is definitely the CG trailer from the Direct (which have gotten their own blog posts for the previous four newcomers).
I guess that's also possible. It might have given too much away if they left a larger gap in the numbering. Still, it proves that there will only be one original newcomer, because the Simon and K. Rool CG trailer were posted on the blog immediately after the Direct, before their blog posts.

Luigi will probably be shown when his game comes out, so my bingo must await another day....
Japan, and only Japan, will sometimes do supplementary updates for characters featuring their game of origin or something else related to them. They are called "Today's Memory" even if they're relatively recent or just released.

Most of the likely third parties that people speculate about (that aren't Geno) didn't debut on Nintendo platforms. So if, say, Kos-Mos, Heihachi or Sora are in the game, they ain't getting memory posts.
Unless we get a double character reveal.

Yeah, It's probably a newcomer with couple of memory updates.
It's obvious that we are going to get some kind of Smash update but I'm really curious on whenever we are getting more information after Direct? I guess October?
So we can check, how many updates have all the newcomers gotten each? Just want to know what to expect with the 3.

- newcomer memory (or memories)

- new assist trophy/item
I kind of feel like newcomer + stage is most likely... just dropping one Echo Fighter seems a bit odd to me, and three trailers without anything to break them up is also kind of weird. Like, Incineroar and a new Pokemon stage or something. (But then what memory would he get, like a 3DS game from two years ago?)

It served as kind of series-wide memory for all the Warioware games since Gold brought back a lot of stuff from every game in the series.

I'm really curious to see how it looks in Smash Bros if the rumor is legit.
After the Direct the blog update for the day included the CG trailer for Castlevania, K. Rool's "Rivals" trailer, both Simon and K. Rool's profiles, and the Bloody Tear remix, all at once. Then they shared Richter on Monday.

Yeah, long time ago but we don't know for sure how legit it was.
Both of those characters as last reveals would be severely disappointing. Medusa, Skull Kid, Issac, Geno I'd settle for just one.
