Bowser's Castle was always such a perfect Mario Kart themed smash stage and it eats me alive knowing that we got double the basic circuit instead.

The odds of Mario getting 2 new stages with such a small new stage count is basically 0.

We'll have yet another Smash game with no Bowser's castle, or even a stage for Bowser to call home. Not even an Airship.

It's probably why we haven't really gotten many Bowser remixes. They just get stuck on Luigi's Mansion where they don't really fit.
I just beat Mario Odyssey the other day and saw this place and thought "wow Bowser has some crazy final areas." With this and 3D world especially he has style.

Shame we have nothing for it in smash.

Bayonetta was a ballot pick. One among "realizable" characters. I find it kinda funny how people rail against the notion of Sakurai not following a set of self-imposed rules. He's already detailed a good deal of times in the past how he determines a character to be playable. If he didn't have rules in the first place for himself, the roster would be far more scattershot than it is.

And I never claimed to be upset about anything, so I mean, you're still pretty much aggressively shoving words down my throat here. Whether that irony is lost on you when you so supposedly think of it as the "funniest thing you've ever read", well, whatever helps you sleep at night I guess.

3D World had a great basis for a take on the Bowser world, unfortunately the levels within said world map barely reflected it, really only the final stage did and that was one ferris wheel like obstacle and then just a tall tower.

We already have the precedent with Bomberman and Rathalos that 3rd party franchises can be in smash outside of a playable role. Heck rayman technically did that as a trophy in smash wiiu. Minecraft in Smash as an assist trophy or something along those lines is something I wouldn't be shocked by.

True

but the way that final boss fight is basically a platforming challenge that culminates in the scene on the top of the tower overlooking the neon carnival in a thunderstorm is pretty incredible tho

What if we get a bowser stage, and it's his goopy hot tub realm from Sunshine?

I damn near lost my shit when Cat Bowser's double cherry came into play, just one of those moments that slaps a big grin on ones face.

What really sells Goku for Smash is the fact that Sakurai was most likely against his inclusion at first. He probably hadn't had much exposure to DB, hadn't seen any episodes of the anime, just knew Goku as that spiky haired guy. Seeing the results of the ballot he decided to see what the fuss was about and gave the anime a watch. After seeing Goku in all his glory how could he not start to ponder what it would be to like to include Goku? His moveset sells itself. Kamehameha, Spirit Bomb, the agile grace that Goku exhibits, CQC, and fightscenes that span tens of episodes.. I'm sure there was some resistance at first. "He's not a video game character!", "He's too cool!". He started to make excuses to avoid the reality that is Goku. Over time his will faltered and he eventually caved. We're lucky Sakurai is just 48 years young (Part of DragonBalls target audience of ages 1-150). I'm not sure how anyone is saying Goku is anything but a lock.

Bowser really does lose personality with his generic voice. Bowser's real voice is so good.

Really, Bowser should basically be what Incineroar will probably be. He's basically just a big ol monster in Smash, when he isn't that in Mario games.

Behold, I a true leaker was amongst you all along

Prince Peasley is the long awaited mario rpg rep, his taunt has the capability of blinding the entire screen in white light.
Rajang with DK's old electric custom moves is the Monster Hunter rep, so basically a clone character, a Donkey Kong variant if you will
Steve is in, Steve Rogers that is

and so they finally replace bowser's kaiju sounds
A double whammy of monkey's paw Bowser wishes.
pls don't use "Bowser," "goopy," and "hot" in the same sentence thanks

tangentially related, it's "Meowser" come on now
Fine
Bowser's steamy and heated encounter with his son at the end of Sunshine

great response, good look on you

Goku would never write off a legitimate counterpoint with a "lmao"

It's cowardly
There was no legitimate counterpoint. He says Sakurai is more strict with third parties, but every third party I bring up that doesn't fit perfectly with that is met with "well that's different because-". If so many 3rd parties have exceptions then it sure doesn't seem like there are strict rules. Never mind the fact that Minecraft is perfectly eligible for a playable character and there is no actual legitimate reason to say that it doesn't deserve it when the series has characters like Cloud, whose game has never been on a Nintendo sytem, Snake who they chose to go with a design that has never been on a Nintendo system, Game and Watch who isn't an actual character and is just different LCD games mashed together, Wii Fit Trainer who is just a silhouette that shows you how to do exercises and yoga. It's fine for people to say they don't want him or would rather other characters, but trying to justify that by saying Minecraft doesn't deserve a playable character or shouldn't have one is reaching. With how many times Sakurai is broken made up rules or even gone against what he said previously you'd think this fanbase would learn to not do stuff like this.

I'm so aggressively pro-Minecraft that I don't even care if Steve is in the game!

The entire argument started from me making a joke about people that are upset about the idea of Steve, and then he came in arguing that Steve doesn't fit the criteria to be in Smash, but then says that I'm shoving words now his throat.

Not gonna argue against Steve's chances but 3rd parties are treated more strictly than 1st party franchises and that's a literal fact. He's not really wrong about that TBH

So your "lmao" response isn't warranted in any way.

They're treated more strictly in the sense that fewer get in, but you can't look at the ones that have made it in and say that they all have to fit strict criteria, because they absolutely don't.
And that's not even getting into the fact that Minecraft is perfectly eligible to have a playable character, especially on the popularity side.
