Think we might see Tails at some point. Perhaps even as DLC.
Shadow and Liquid Snake as Echo fighters.
I love Minecraft and I hate SteveI imagine everyone who would be legitimately upset with Steve are old people who hate the kids of today and drink Monster energy drink.
I used to drink it a lot when I was a teenager. Then there was a long gap until the last time I tried it as a thirty-something and it was so goddamn vile I couldn't even finish the can.I refuse to believe anyone would voluntarily drink mountain dew
most notable, vergeben, though all he knows is "minecraft content" rather than specifically a character. But whether its from the same source or just from verge, it's an easy extrapolation either way and not necessarily confirmation even if he's a legit leaker.Rumor guy's gonna need something more reliable to take his word on Smash info. Samurai Shodown has been a rumored thing for a while now. Everything in that post is stuff that's been extrapolated from elsewhere.
Is that why they sell toys of the player characters, or sell skins in game? There is a ton of potential in how Steve could play, incorporating many aspects of Minecraft.I'm in my mid-20s and I only drink Red Bull. Only.
Steve is not visually appealing and the character has nothing to do with why anyone enjoys his game. That avatar is entirely irrelevant to the experience of playing Minecraft.
The main difference here is those are Nintendo franchises. They can be expected to show up as a significant representation of Nintendo's personal catalog and history. Minecraft isn't.Is that why they sell toys of the player characters? There is a ton of potential in how Steve could play, incorporating many aspects of Minecraft.
Then there is also all the potential for alts.
You might as well say Villager is irrelevant to the experience of playing Animal Crossing
Also it's not like anybody plays Wii Fit for the Trainer, or plays Game and Watch games of Mr. Game and Watch.
Minecraft is one of the biggest games of the last Decade and has been on 3 Nintendo systems and has Nintendo content. The main difference here is those are Nintendo franchises. The only thing that's weird about that leak is that it still won't tell us the Square rep, Pokemon rep, but it can name Isabelle and a Minecraft character which would probably be Steve.
If this guy knows that stuff why does he still not know the Pokemon and Square character
With the exception of sales the same can be said about Rayman (who's been on far more platforms than Minecraft and also has Nintendo content), yet he's not playable either. How much of Minecraft's success is owed to it being on Nintendo? What necessitates it a playable character position in Smash Bros? A few trophies, a stage or an assist trophy is understandable. A playable character, not so much. Especially since Minecraft isn't a franchise known for character. Sakurai's already mentioned that standards for third party characters are much higher than first party ones.Minecraft is one of the biggest games of the last Decade and has been on 3 Nintendo systems and has Nintendo content.
He said he only heard one source say that, right?
It must have eaten the franchise separation dimension

That guy's also claiming there will be a Switch Pro, and Samurai Spirits and will have two different versions for it and the regular Switch.
I have strong doubts.
I just remembered that if the 103 stage count is absolute (it probably is), it means that all 3rd party characters from unrepped series are pretty much hard locked out.
This gives me comfort.
Permanently rocketing upwards as you fight on a platform moving around it.
Oh yeah, we need Digimon content in the game
What's the difference between base Goku and uhhhh... vanilla Goku?I hate this model so much. The one for the base Goku DLC is sooooo much better.
Skull KidThat would pretty much mean any new series, be it first party or third party, are hard locked out.
So newcomer wise, what would that leave us with? Bandana Dee and Geno?
Is this what happens when you take Melee as a deadly serious competitive game for two decades?"Smash is officially a kids game."
what the fuck have these people been playing for twenty years

Vergeben hasn't posted on Gamefaqs or Reddit in almost a week.
loz i think had more vague """"hints"""" on twitter or somethingVergeben hasn't posted on Gamefaqs or Reddit in almost a week.
I mean, one of the main reasons I play Animal Crossing (probably top 5) is to customize my Villager. There was a conscious choice in the design of that series to make it third person and, aside from usability and ease of interaction, avatar customization is a huge part of that. Any time I've ever played or (more often) seen people play Minecraft, it has been in first person because the concept of the player character and customization thereof was not at all the focus in the game's early stages of development and release. (It's also usually just more inconvenient to play that way, which adds onto the de-emphasis of the character.) Only with console releases and further DLC were skins emphasized, because Steve sucked so bad that people wanted him to look like something else. You might as well say Villager is irrelevant to the experience of playing Animal Crossing

I think everyone is missing how Minecraft will ACTUALLY be implemented:I mean, one of the main reasons I play Animal Crossing (probably top 5) is to customize my Villager. Your next point gets to the heart of why I am against Steve. Steve =/= Minecraft. The brand is huge and deserves some kind of recognition, but a character doesn't feel like the right way to do that since he is so entirely ancillary to the experience of playing the game. Steve is more a representation of marketing than of an actual game. He only became huge and recognizable well after the game's initial boom because heroes are more marketable when trying to sell toys and complimentary media. Wii Fit Trainer is, like, essential to the experience of playing Wii Fit. So it makes sense that if they wanted to mark the franchise's success in Smash, that'd be who to include. I just don't think that a character who is only seen by a fraction of the players in his own game is the best pick. Steve as a character is among the least important things about Minecraft, to the point that the character feels like an afterthought. There are much better ways to represent the good, important aspects of Minecraft such as its world (stage) and gameplay (items).
All that being said, I wouldn't be shocked to see him announced. I look forward to being shat upon for this.
