Hello PC Era! I'm new here. I've been an avid stalker of SteamGAF for a long time (didn't have a paid e-mail before, since i was too young to have one), but then, we all know what happened to GAF. I tried to find alternative gaming forums like OpenCritic etc. Finally i found ERA and specifically SteamERA (now PC Gaming ERA).

Nice to meet you all!
(Throughout my time stalking GAF & ERA, i can conclude that there are lots of members here that i look up to, even now. I won't mention it, though!)

I still have a couple weeks until my 2080 arrives so I've just got my 8700K.

What are good PC games I can play without a GPU for now?

I remember just after the GAF explosion and just before Era was set up, a few of us moved over to the OpenCritic forums. I think Durante was there too.

I actually quite liked what they had, minus a few weird design problems I remember.

Yeah it was pretty nice, especially considering the extremely short timeframe for setting it up.

I spent way too much on Paradox DLC this month, God damn. Forget Overwatch, these guys need to be reigned in.

Hello and welcome to PCGaming ERA :D. As a former lurker, I'm always glad to see when other lurkers make the move to introduce themselves to the community/thread.

How long have you been into PC Gaming? What types of games do you like?

It's not bad when you consider many of the titles have seen active development for over 5 years each.

Not like they're dropping a new game with $1000 worth of DLC upfront and releasing a sequel with new DLC 12 months later.

Apparently, Shadow pares down on shootybang immensely, compared to Rise.

Idk about the first and third one
If Yakuza continues coming to PC, I imagine that'll come too

Is Gungrave VR? I remember reading once about such a thing in development.

Also Gungrave in 2019

NEXT YOU'LL BE TELLING ME THERE'S A TRIGUN TELLTALE GAME WHERE HE GOES AROUND SPREADING LOVE AND PEACE

There's a new Gungrave VR game on PSVR that's coming to PC.

Gungrave G.O.R.E. is a regular non-VR game, but since the VR game is coming to PC I think that'll come to PC too.

I already own it via Xbox/Windows store so I don't think I'll double dip at this point just to have it on Steam. I hope they bring Sunset Overdrive over so more people can play that great game, but the fact that they haven't so far may mean there's a legal holdup they don't plan to resolve.

Nah its just not a priority for a billion dollar company. There are always lots of things to do, but priorities shift, people change positions, layoffs happen, so something like a pc port given the culture and focus at xbox is a low priority. given what i posted before, it falls inline with a game that may be windows store first but could appear on steam down the line.

S-E really is annoying about this. I'm surprised they didn't push DQ PC back for no reason.
I think we need to give up on the idea of Square being a single company.

All the divisions behave completely differently. NieR wasn't really held back, nor DQXI. Chrono Trigger gets patched, while nothing else does. Final Fantasy gets held back for at least 6 months.

WoFF ships without Denuvo. The Last Remnant gets delisted for no reason.

Honestly, some of this shit must get decided on a roll of the dice or something.

Same for me. I hope they change their mind.
I mean, this isn't anything new here. The last three Final Fantasy remasters where announced first on some Sony conference, and then a year (or less) after the PS4 release, it appeared on Steam.
So you can look forward to playing it in 2020, at the latest, I guess.

Turns out, DQ XI PC doesn't use AES, just a standard XOR shifter with key, I kid you not, 0xDEADFADE BEEFCAFE
Heh, I just now replied to that in the thread.

I wonder if that's incompetence or some malicious compliance by a programmer who thought that what they were asked to do was stupid :p

Even then its kinda sad, because while the game can be then had for like 15-20€, im sure it would launch full-price on Steam.

FWIW, FF15 was decently priced. IIRC it was €50 (rather than 60 70 on console launch), and included all the DLC up to that point.
