I don't really know how the relationship is with PM and Neo wiz . But is there any chance Dj max respect will be ported to the switch?
Having both xonic and djmax respect will make switch the ultimate rhythm game machine.

PM STUDIOS
Unfortunately we wont be able to answer this question just yet.
So you're saying theres a chance.gif

If a mod can edit the title to SUPERBEAT: XONiC SWITCH |OT| "I'm getting it on the Switch"
I would appreciate it.

It's a fun game with a lot of content. A few extra songs that weren't in the PS4 launch. All of the other rhythm games on Switch are available for $8-30, so $40 is a pretty steep price-tag, but if you're in this thread then you probably already know whether you think Superbeat: Xonic is worth it or not. I've really enjoyed it.

If you've played it before then the asymmetrical thumb-sticks on the Joy-Con will throw you off for a bit for those directional flicks. Took me a few hours to readjust my muscle memory.

So, I jumped in having played the Vita version at launch.

This is a perfect port. Not only is it mechanically sound, but you CAN PLAY IN HANDHELD MODE WITH JOYCONS DETACHED!

Fucking. Sweet.

Didn't realise it was getting physical release. Will wait till December in the UK

What's the general opinion on controls when comparing buttons to touchscreen?

Got this from Amazon today and it's a perfect port except for one huge (in my eyes) issue: the offset analog sticks of the Switch. Maybe it's just my muscle memory from the Vita version, but my hands have just been stupid with the analog up/down notes. Anybody else struggling with this?

I am also struggling with this. Using buttons is much worse because the switch controllers aren't symmetrical, however, the bigger screen size makes it perfect for touch inputs.

I absolutely love rhythm games and the fact that I can play in handheld mode to avoid TV lag is a plus for me.
Happy to see the Switch getting "Vita-like" Japanese games. Definitely getting this soon.

I've been really enjoying my time with the game. I'm glad rhythm games have been coming to the Switch like this, Deemo and Voez. I'll gladly take more rhythm games too!

So is this finally as close to the perfect version we'll get? Vita screen was too small for efficient touch controls IMO but this has bigger screen and physical controls.

This is the first time I've played this game in any form, and hoooooooo boy is it difficult. The difficulty gap between 4 Trax and 6 Trax feels like a canyon. Fun game, though.

Loving it so far. My favorite track at this point is Fantasti-K (I'm a sucker for that kind of melody).

I'm not that good at rythm games (Rythm Heaven is HARD for me), but I like how leneant this game is.

Would touch be the best input interface for this game?
I think either input is viable. I understand people's complaints about the joycons being asymmetrical, and it's throwing me off too, but I'm sure I'll get use to it after I play some more.

I might try taking the joycons off and seeing if touch control feels better. Personally I found that I could never find a position playing VOEZ that I was comfortable with, which eventually turned me off from the game, but also Superbeat doesn't have anything in the middle of the screen so it should be easier on my thumbs.

Well i had this game for the vita and got it yesterday for the switch and my quick impressions are really nice.

It's a cool game to just play here and there in short or long sessions how you want it.
The port in general is really good and i didn't found any issue with it.

Playing with the joycons on the TV is nice but i love playing this with the touchscreen and here it has some advantages compared with the vita.

Besides the bigger screen the game enables you to remove the joy-cons, turn them off using the little button in the joy-cons and play it touschscreen using only the screen and it's really confortable.
Makes it easier to play handheld than VOEZ since this one forces to have the switch on your lap/table to play it. Xonic you can play it by holding it like a tablet.

It's a really fun game. For some reason I find it just hard as balls though.

It is pretty tough, start on 4 Trax songs and slowly work your way through. Also start doing some of the world tour challenges as they start easy but ramp up pretty quickly. Eventually muscle memory will start to take over. Focus on really challenging sequences and play them repeatedly.

Because it is hard as balls. This game feels like it was designed for DJMAX vets first and foremost. 6 Trax is brutally hard for what's supposed to be the "normal" mode. I've been trying to do some of the harder 4 Trax songs to get the hang of it first.

I spent a lot of time on 4 Trax before moving forward with 6. The time spent practicing will definitely pay off.

The touchscreen controls feels super-off at the moment. I'm dropping pretty much every flick and drag.

Edit: Yeah, there's definitely something off about the touchscreen controls. It feels as if the input doesn't have enough leeway, the pink drag notes are pretty much dropping as soon as I hit them. Had no problems with Deemo or Voez on Switch, or the Vita version of Xonic. Hope there's a patch in the works.

Also, the Switch controller *sucks* for this game. Almost unplayable.

I was going to ask if anyone else was having issues with dragging on the touch screen. It feels insanely sensitive. I never had any issues dragging notes in VOEZ but in SBX it feels like they just drop for no reason. It's especially frustrating because tapping notes looks and feels great on the touchscreen so I don't understand what's up with the drag notes.

Contacted PMStudios about it on Twitter, sent them a video. They messaged me that someone on the dev team's looking into it, and a patch should be up in a few days, give or take.

So yeah, seems it's not just us.

Anyone else having trouble getting your scores to register on the leaderboard? I played for a bit before noticing that there was an update but even after that they still wouldn't register. After that I tried deleting my progress and nope! Really kills my enjoyment not being able to climb the leaderboard...

I have no leaderboard problems on Xbox One, can't say anything about the controls for obvious reasons lol.

Super recommended but only if you have the Pro pad, this game sounds awful with the joycons I think. Really forgiving but can be absolutely impossible if you're like that. Track list if all over the place similar to Taiko but maybe not as diverse as I'd like. Lots of electronic esque music if it's not directly electronic.

No leaderboard issues for me, are you checking the right one? There's three separate boards for 4,6 and 6+

Does the Switch port have any significant enhancements over the Vita version?

I assume. There are tabs for 4, 6, 6+, FreeStyle, and World Tour and no matter what I played it never scored me (that box in the lower left). The song selection page for each stage don't update with anything either...

Song DLC and patch are out. Seems like quite a few songs too.

No luck on my issues though. Single notes in rapid succession, hold, and drag notes are still dropping often for me in touch. Wonder if it might have something to do with the heat generated by the Switch itself.

Yeah, the patch hasn't fixed the touch controls. Devs have said that they're looking into it and there should be a fix in the next few weeks.

Done did my own QA at home and figured out the cause of my leaderboard problems (don't have a user name with a space in it, I'm serious...) As a software engineer by trade this actually isn't too surprising since I recently spent a week helping a client track down a processing bug that was caused by some of their data having a newline character encoded into it.

Anyway, I just got the chance to play the game on my television since I got home from a few days with the family for Thanksgiving. For a game that is essentially just a bunch of colored blocks it looks damn sharp and clean when docked. I'm also getting a hang of the offset controls as well and should start poking around with 6trax in the coming days.

I meant to buy this game on the Vita waaaay back, when it first came out, but never did. Guess that all works out, though -- now's the time to get it.
