Same here :(That scene ongutted me more than anything I've ever seen in recent memory. It still fucks me.the beach with the baby all alone
Same - what do you think about?I think about this movie a lot, probably more than any other movie.
Woah. Assuming you're talking about the pickups.
Wait, then how did the directormade them appear naked with raging boners? I'd doubt total strangers (even Scottish ones) would agree to get totally naked and show off their willys
I think the guys in the black room are obviously actors but all of the rest of the cast are normal people unaware of the filming?
Yup, it's the reason I can't watch it again. It's such a little tiny thing in the overall scope of the movie but it has stuck with me, very painfully, ever since. It's traumatizing. That scene ongutted me more than anything I've ever seen in recent memory. It still fucks me.the beach with the baby all alone
I saw this movie once, when it came out 4 years ago or whatever. I can't say I necessarily loved the experience of watching it and I would never recommend it to the vast majority of people, but I still think about it all the time. The score, the visuals, the utterly bizarre and creepy (truly alien) mood, etc. It left such a strong impression on me in a way that honestly only a handful of movies I've ever seen has. Definitely one of the most memorable films to come out this decade IMO.
I don't think I enjoyed this movie, but I'm glad I watched it. What a weird thing it is.
I think my favorite part is when ScarJo gets complimented on her appearance and then afterwards the other aliens are studying her to figure out what the person was talking about. I do wish they had gotten to that stuff sooner as I felt the hitchhiking stuff went on a bit too long.
She didn't have one, she was checking out the absence with a lampI saw it a few years ago, really liked it, but at this point absolutely cannot remember the second half of the film. The beach scene, the taxi driver stuff, sure, but the only scene I remember from the later part of the film is:
ScarJo sitting on the bed checking her vagina out with a lamp
:\

You can't put someone in a film without asking. So they asked the people in the truck afterwards if they wanted to go further. Even the guy at the end isn't an actor, but just the owner of that thing.
Sometimes entertainment or art isn't there to entertain but just to subject you to new experiences and/or make you think about things
Sounds like this movie smashed that out the park for you
She didn't have one, she was checking out the absence with a lamp
But yeah I think the film gets a bit limp in the last parts, clearly failed to capture how the book progressed - but it's still great
The scenes in the van were candid, most of the guys didn't know it was being filmed.
Then if she managed to drive them back to the house, the production crew came out and I think they were briefed and asked if they wanted to proceed. I think the first couple of Black Room guys are real candid people
Yeah this was good.
IIRC that would only leave one dude who was candid?I'm fairly certain this isn't true. All of the guys in the black room are actors.
Oh wow I didn't know this is the same director who did Birth. That was a great movie.Thankfully we dont have to wait another 10 years for the next Glazer project. He's announced he's doing a story on the Holocaust. I wonder if it'll be as arthouse-y as Birth and this, I hope so!
She explained the process a bit deeper:This is absolutely wild. Had no idea this is what went down.
I Really didn't want to have to watch this movie again, haha, but I guess I'll have to just to get another perspective on this aspect.
