Pokemon trainer should just have a blastouis and venasaur, (s)he only uses for megas in the final smash
I haven't seen it yet despite Pan's Labyrinth being my all-time fave, but my understanding is you only see the aftermath, and it's to illustrate the merman has some non-human qualities, right?

Maybe they'll knock them all down at once in the Direct if the focus is on Pokemon. I doubt Mewtwo's would change, but I can see Lucario's being reworked and Greninja's involving an aesthetic change with Ash-Greninja.

Except for Mewtwo and Lucario, all the Pokémon's entrance animations have them come out a Poké Ball, so they all of a trainer. Since Mewtwo and Lucario have speaking lines, it can be assumed they are based on their movie appearances and are special enough to Mega Evolve on their own (Mewtwo was able to in the Genesect movie), assuming that they don't have a trainer.

There we go. I only recently discovered Yo-Kai is the next hot thing. My Nephew (who loves Pokémon) is obsessed with Yo-Kai. I had a look at a few of them and uh... A few strange designs there.

They should have given Pokémon Trainer the Z-Moves as 3 different Final Smashes. Would have been nice to see her more involved.
At least with Charizard it's justified since his entrance animation has him coming out of a Pokeball. Lucario and Mewtwo straight up cheat.
If it makes you feel any better they weren't real. It was a ghost (I think?) doing these weird illusions.

i imagine what ever gen 7 pokemon gets in will have a Z move as it's final smash but as it stands i can see why people would want trainer to have something different then just triple finish again

Yo-Kai have generally more interesting, varied and funny designs than Pokémon has ever had
But they're going for different things (like the games themselves) so it's kinda disingenuous to compare the two. Yo-Kai Watch is basically like slightly more child-friendly Shin Megami Tensei, and I don't see anyone comparing Mara to Dragonair.
