Yes. Capcom already confirmed more stuff at TGS so this is pretty likely place to have a new trailer or something.

This is way better for me because instead of waking up in the middle of the night I just get up a bit early.
Prediction: New Death Stranding footage, but we won't know it's Death Stranding until the stage event in a couple weeks.
SIEJA has never showed a single trailer for a Western game from Sony except a Japanese dubbed Detroit Become Human trailer last year and PlayLink with Hidden Agenda was a new announcement. What you will see is Western is probably a new trailer for COD BO4 because SIEJA has partnership with Activision. Ubisoft Japan will share a new trailer for AC Odyssey.
Anything else will be new. In 2016 you thought you would see a new trailer for RE7 but you didn't. MS has marketing rights to DMC5. Mega Man 11 will be showcased at TGS. So nothing from Capcom this year.
Nioh 2 can finally get a trailer as it was teased at E3 and Babylon's Fall as well. That wouldn't be a rehash.
And I don't get your logic with rehash of E3 when they are inviting 155 users on lottery to participate the showcase which has never happened before. That means there is a special game from SIEJA they care about that are supposed to get announced. An IP with high demand. Not just media who participate the show this year.
SE is doing their own KH stuff for TGS, so we probably won't see anything.

Once upon a time, certainly, but it's not really a big show anymore, and I don't think it's even met even relatively modest expectations since 2015.
I guess it's not impossible they have higher profile stuff to show, but we haven't been getting a lot of teasers to help suggest that.

Is this going to be similar to their TGS press conferences in the past? The name change is throwing me off.
That's harsh. I'm not expecting much of anything realistically, but it's fun to be excited for something.

There is an announcement from SNK.
Very few people are expecting AAA games from TGS. They did a show in 2015 that was amazing and it was largely AA quality games. This won't be that.
I feel like last year barely had any announcements at all. Hardware stuff, some VR announcements.

Well no leaks and a mediocre show for TGS every year recently leaves me with low hopes.

Death Stranding panel is at TGS. That's next weekend (Sept. 20 to 23).

Oh that is why I thought TGS was later. What is happening? Why the conference is almost 2 weeks before TGS?
When is the Capcom and other companies conferences? When does TGS start officially? I am so confused now.
My expectations for TGS are generally low due to past experiences.
That said I think there is a really good chance for news on the next Yakuza game which would be cool.
Outside of that my hopes would be Nioh 2, Monster Hunter World G-Rank(or whatever big update) other console game(they apparently are working on something else outside Granblue PS4) announcement from Cygames.
Pipedreams would be Granblue Ps4(unlikely as they already said no new news before December is what I've been told), Dragon Quest Monsters PS4 and the new Tales game showing up.
