At the moment the only information we have about games which will be in famitsu and potentially also in the Direct is this tweet:
I hope that, if there was more important information, they would be able to delay them also in Famitsu.
I feel like this has happened before on a number of occasions. People hype up Famitsu only for it be a bunch of nothing.
Would it be possible for the annoucement be on Monday considering Japan's Time Zone with the Direct on Tuesday
This combined with the fact that Famitsu didn't cover the smash direct until the last week of august tells me they are super not worried about anything notable from the direct leaking.
Don't get me wrong I would much prefer to have it as soon as possible. I'm just saying Wednesday and Thursday are the farthest they can push the Direct they can reasonably push the Direct back.
This doesn't really tell anything because why would they announce the surprise direct games ahead of time lol
But the Direct was scheduled before the Famitsu preview, if I'm not wrong.
Unless the Direct will air before Famitsu leak, obviously. Then all the discussion won't matter anymore.
I wouldn't be surprised if these were the only Nintendo 3rd party games to be featured, I doubt Famitsu won't have any 1st party title.
In light of a recent thread I'm probably going to have to stay quiet about Shantae for Smash for a couple of days.

Are Ness and Lucas over 16? Legit question never played the games.
The worst thing is that melee brawler honestly isn't too bad idea for Ganondorf, but they still keep awkward C.Falcon moves for him. His downB can be charging attack, but does it need to be kick? Ganondorf doesn't kick dive too much so things like upTilt look bizarre. Not to mention numerous smaller moves and animations are too close to Falcon. If Mario's downB can be changed from offensive move to utility & Pit gets a more faithful version of his moves, why not Ganondorf? Like make his downB a Phantom Ganondorf Trident thrust instead of kick dive.
So if they allow you to beat up them Shantae should be no problem.

I was thinking a cool way to keep Ganon's current moveset while paying tribute to his wizard and demon aspect was to just be a Stand user.
Ganondorf plays similarly but Smash attacks could involve Ganon as a Stand that helps add power to his attacks. His Warlock Punch is just him doing the same move alongside Stand Ganon. Is it faithful to his games? Eh not much but it would be rad and current Ganon is already playing it fast and loose with how he is in Smash.

Eh don't worry about it. People already accused Shantae fans of only wanting her in Smash because of her sex appeal. It's not gonna be any worse now if all you just want to do is say that you want her in Smash.

I would honestly try to keep Ganondorf heavily same as current Smash type but give some unique moves.
DownB would be dive with Trident used by Phantom Ganondorf, instead of kick dive. Aerial version would be downwards poking move with keeping good shield breaking. UpB could be single powerful uppercut with super armor. No more copying Falcon grab-boom one. SideB is fine, and technically I'd be ok with NeutralB, although it should gain the symbol of Triforce of Power to look cooler. Up tilt should be performed by hand and be magic based instead of burning foot smash. Down Tilt could be small electric shock to ground to differentiate it more from forward tilt. Up air should be electric ball instead of sweeping kick. It would lose range but should compensate with power. Back air should gain Darkness magic properties. And neutral air should be a horizontal cape slash, that would uniquely reflect projectiles. I don't think any neutral air reflects at the moment? Of course, it should be fairly weak and not strong reflect. And grabs should have more unique animations like referencing punch from Wind Waker.

If there are 4 more I think they will space it out, Incineroar for direct, live stream on October for a character, then November 2 more from the Smash Direct.

He seemed like the latest bandwagon character with no real historical resonance and lacking an emotional connection to contemporary video game players. That isn't necessarily a reason to keep somebody out, but it was enough for me to be indifferent to his inclusion. I've passively hoped he would get in for the people that truly want him, but NOW things have changed. I find myself rooting for Geno in Smash BECAUSE...

I'm surprised people don't take 1 look at her design and immediately assume the games are full of fanservice.
That shantae thread isn't helping their case. My gut feeling that a lot of that fanbase just wants her in because horny reasons feels justified TBH. Oh and she's 16 so that makes it worse.

Ehh I feel like at least the older design itself is innocuous enough, but if you play even the GBC game, one of the places in Scuttle Town you can go to after the prologue sequence is a dancing parlor which only opens up at night and lets Shantae dance in front of a crowd to earn money.
