Let's be real, the only reason Ian is getting flack and not the others is because he was the one talking about "white males" and "male presenting". I notice that all the other allies, even though I'm sure they align with Ian politically, carefully avoid this kind of language. I guess they know it makes people insecure and defensive.

Same thing happened with IGN's review of COD WWII. The reviewer was heavily criticized because she used the term "white males" and "genders". It's crazy how that kind of stuff make people insecure. And that review was great.

they have been used a lot to try to rise awareness of a social issue in the world, people who don't want to see those issues usually acts defensively when they even hear those terms. Ian is more outspoken with this than the other allies, that's why he is always picked on.

I agree the other allies must think the same, but they are much more careful about speaking anything political or social.

Just wanna back up the on the Ian love. I don't like every EzU episode(that said I do think some of the EzU episodes are among the best produced stuff on Easy Allies) nor do I seem to agree with a lot of feelings on games Ian has but it's always interesting to hear his perspective + I legit admire how he manages to challenges himself to put out something every week.

Yep. Ian is the best. I also feel like my feelings about games doesn't always align with his, but I enjoy hearing his take on things nonetheless. He always advocates for people to play what they like and enjoy, and acknowledges when his opinion on something is the outlier (e.g. TLOU).

I was feeling pretty down over the weekend, and decided to rewatch some old EU episodes (particularly the ones where Ian is just chilling with one or more of the allies) and it did a great job of cheering me up.

I actually haven't watched that episode yet because I still haven't played UC4. :P I'm definitely going back to it once I do, though. I loved the episodes where Ian and Huber play Stifled and Ian and Ben get smoothies. All so jolly!

One of my favorites & the first one I ever watched when I started getting into the Allies was the one where Ian & Brad walk on the beach and get ice cream. I thought it was so random & chill at the same time.

To continue with the Ian love, those couple of Mandatory Update episodes he made before Gametrailers closed are just the best.

About the "what the 2/5 starts translate to" in the metacritic score. I think some people said it would be a 7. Metacritic counted it indeed as a 5.

Those early Easy Updates with Ian just hanging out with another Ally are some of my favourites. Here's a list if people want to check them out:

The logical conclusion to this is Ian taking Jones, Bloodworth and Damiani to IKEA

I have been looking forward to this Friend Code for a while and am pleased to say that it didn't disappoint. I have seen Damiani in this thread earlier and just wanted to compliment him on the way the game footage matched exactly what was being said. I would imagine a lot of time and effort was invested here. It added a great touch to an already excellent podcast. Well done Damiani.

Also wanted to chime in and say that your insights on the podcast are always appreciated!

Thanks so much! I have a great time doing them and using a lifetime of game knowledge and legal/business knowledge together.

And I'd like to echo the sentiments above re: friend code. I was just on the treadmill (Michigan for outdoor running) watching this one and thoroughly enjoyed the video clips matching the subject matter. Great production values and great job, Damiani!

It's really nice to see friend code consistently have such great production values. It was well worth the wait. Great job, Damiani!

Watching the episode reminded me of my own feelings of joy and elation playing Odyssey. It really is a special game.

Hey they made it up to the max 9 sponsors. And Frametrap sponsors are at an all time high.

Good stuff

Yeah, wow, if I can only say 1 thing, the EZA community is strong as fuck.

Zelda Game Sleuth has crossed 400k views and is now the allies' most viewed video, damiani having a good week

Noice! 400k. Holy smokes. Went from around 80k views to 400k. 300k in like a month and a half. DAT YouTube algorithm. HylianScribe

Bloodworth in the friendcode episode you mentioned the scientist hair in reference to sonic. All the extra outfits are in relation to official Mario art throughout the years, noticed several of them myself.
Good friendcode as always.
All of them? I definitely noticed quite a few, but there's a lot of costumes that don't seem tied to anything. What's the scientist from then?

I put in a spoiler link in my previous post, yes even the scientist.
My favourite was Mario in a hakama/kimono, which was from Nintendo's official new year/Japanese holiday art work.

Edit: btw didn't mean to imply all 100% outfits, sorry

You're all making this latest Friend Code sound so good, it's hard to resist watching it. Going to stay strong and save it for until after I've played Odyssey.

I know they don't like to get too political (as do I), but I hope they do say something about Net Neutrality on stream or twitter.

Good Cup of Jones today also.

This Friend Code was truly excellent. Makes me want to go watch the un-numbered Zelda special since I miss that the first time around.

Net Neutrality isn't really a political issue (although politicians are of course getting involved). It's a privacy issue and if they cancel it, it will cost everybody a lot of money who isn't involved with the ISP's themselves. It doesn't matter to which side you lean politically, you will most certainly have to pay more after a while when this thing get's through (queue the optional streaming packs for $10 or $20 to be able to use Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Youtube, Twitch, ... or they will charge those companies to not throttle their bandwith and those companies are then forced to charge that extra cost to their customers). The only people benefitting from this are the ISP's (and probably VPN providers) and the politicians who are paid by the ISP's to pass this thing.

Imo an ISP has to provide you with internet and they shouldn't care or check what you do with it. It's not their business to do so. A water company or electricity company also doesn't check where you are using your water and electricity for. It is none of their business. You pay for using water, electricity or internet. What you do with it is your own business.

That said, I am not from the US, so I guess it will have less of an impact on me as a Belgian then on US citizens. But you can be sure that the ISP's here want to have the same thing happen here.

While I do think this is very important to talk about (as you can see), I am not sure if it's really a gaming issue and therefor I am not sure if Kyle will talk about it in the podcast or not.
I believe they only should talk about this if they know enough about it to talk about it and if they feel comfortable talking about it.

I don't believe they can mention it very quickly, but they should do what they feel like.

Edit:
Btw, I am sorry for this whole (I guess offtopic) rant, I really get pissed off thinking about this although it probably won't even affect me in the short run as a being from Belgium.

Yeah that b-roll on the latest Friendcode was godly. If Damiani went back and captured all that to follow the episode, major props.
