Men don't have to contend with the idea that if you're nice to someone they'll feel entitled to date you.
In my opinion it's actually based on looks or just status more then gender. If you are ugly, young, and wear shitty clothes no one will do anything considerate for you. The same thing if you are driving a shitbox. No one will recognize you are actually driving on the lane with them. Besides, it's actually difficult to tell the gender of who is driving most of the time. Drivers who actually take the time to recognize the drivers are actually pretty reckless to be honest.
I don't want to cast a wide net but I wasn't that surprised when he started talking about servers. This shit is just alien to me. First why you even value people based on these and secondly the idea women don't do any of this is just nonsense.

Hmm, is this one of those gotcha threads where the OP later reveals that if you agree with these trends, you're probably a man, and that's because men have nothing to lose being nice or helping other men, and a lot to gain being nice or helping women, but if women are being nice or helping men, it's just an invitation to being hit on constantly? And thus women have to be on guard in our society?
Funny you mention that; women are way more friendly than men in my experience. They smile at me more, thank me for my kind actions, are less intrusive, and overall kinder in tone and behavior.

In my personal experience there's no trend. I know very helpful men and women as well more self-absorbed men and women.
There are of course situations where one gender is more likely to help than the other, depending on culture and sometimes physical ability (such as if you need help moving heavy objects).
