I started dating my current gf when I was her boss.
I ended up leaving that job for a handful of reasons but mainly to improve the relationship.

I don't think being poly changes anything you listed. There are higher potential pitfalls with dating people you're around frequently, and dating bosses/people who have some level of control over you is a great way to either get an edge in your job or field or get burned, but probably not going to result in a neutral outcome.
Chances are if you're on this forum you're not regularly in contact with those people, especially not as dating partners.

They are in your safe space all the time. When it goes wrong you're stuck with them. At least with coworkers you can change jobs.

I knew this cute woman who would explain to me in vivid details how she would go about crushing her enemies, see them driven before her, and hear the lamentations of their women...... also a few mentions of petty theft.

I hate this. Relationships aren't purely transactional. I definitely agree with leaving a relationship if it's toxic, but this seems a bit beyond that.
As for who I wouldn't date, someone who doesn't have the same relationship goals as me. I don't want to be joined at the hip all day every day, but I couldn't date someone who wasn't enthusiastic about actually spending time together, and fully integrating into each others lives.
