After the instant wave of harrassment my girlfriend received the instant she stepped out of the tutorial room for the first time, I haven't gone back. Absolutely disgusted me. Shame, too, that game is good. But because it's free, it's full of scum.

Sorry to hear that, I had a lot of fun so far, from young childs to grown man and woman, so far I think I talked to every kind of player in it, it's a mixed community and of course you could meet some assholes in this "lucky bag" of people. :/

Yup, that game is full of the lowest pieces of shit on the platform. Such a great game and a great game of charades with people who actually play correctly is easy to lose hours to - but, the assholes run rampant in that thing.

I wouldn't dare attempt Farpoint or Firewall with DS4

so much so that I bought Farpoint on sale a month ago and didn't play it until a week later when the Aim controller came in the mail

I hope Squanch Games releases the Trover Saves the Universe PAX demo on PSN, it looks simple but the interactions in it look really interesting, would like to see what it's like in VR.

I really like those shaders. (To The Top would have benefited big time from shaders like that).

Roiland is the man for how much he supports and helps sell VR. I'm really stoked for this game. Hack n slash platformer is right up my alley. To the top is a much smaller team and they had to sacrifice extra details in favor of performance, they literally paid out of pocket to make it. The beauty is it's still such an amazing game, runs like a champ, and has a lot of content.

Just wanted to say that Firewall + Aim Controller is one of those things you feel is a generation leap. Sure, its wonky, but so were PS1 games after Snes. The only noticeable flaw I found, was the fact there aren't rounds on ranked. There is a lot of loading between screens and its annoying that you cant play straight 3 out of 5 or something like that.

Quite a few PSVR games for sale on the store in Europe/UK this week.

Best Bargain is Superhypercube for only £4.99 (no PS+ needed either). The cheapest it's ever been before is £9.49.

Never heard of Dark Eclipse, but also got a code for a preview. Don't have the PSVR anymore, so quote this post to grab the code.

it's an EU code if that makes any difference.

I nabbed it, much obliged! Will check it out later, and might report in with opinions if it's interesting!

The code for Dark Eclipse seems to be universal If anyone wants to try it. Someone posted it on HUKD and it's the same code I got (EU): EJH4-PBND-A6L9

Bought Superhypercube, very good game for that cheap price.

But reached only a few times level 2 because wall 10 with the switching forms is hard imo...

Now I really want to try F-Zero GX in VR. But I don't think I'll ever try to connect my PSVR to my PC. It's probably more likely that I will get a Vive or Oculus sometime down the line (once I have a PC that can actually run VR).

Quite possible VR's first hidden gem. Totally overlooked despite being an excellent, excellent game.

I think it's less about being overlooked...and more about being massively overpriced initially.

As enjoyable as the demo was, £24.99 was a stupidly high launch price, especially when you had games like Rush of Blood at launch for only £15.99.

Yeah, launch price was very high...
But it looks like I am too stupid for that game, don't know how to handle that level 10 wall with switching forms :/

Would like to know if the world rankings best player scores are correct or cheated.
I mean over 1000 cubes is impossible...

It was not priced intelligently, that is for sure... but it is also a much better game than Rush of Blood. Don't get me wrong, I think Rush of Blood is great. However, Super Hyper Cube is essentially a perfect game (in my opinion, of course).

I still feel like it didn't get the recognition it deserved.

Well I think Rush of Blood is a way better VR experience...but Superhypercube is probably the best realised trippy VR game (I prefer it to Rez).

Still, I think pricing is what stopped it getting the recognition it deserved. If they'd released it for say £8.99 instead of £24.99...I think it would have sold 20 times as many units and had way more hype.

So had my first experience of VR last night.

And I'm now a believer in the tech. Whilst I was never completely against the idea, I just was never really there ready to embrace it (due to the lack of content overall). But trying it for real completely changed my view. Literally. Watching someone play it on the TV vs seeing it through the headset is night and day. To the point where actually it was a rather dull affair watching someone play (beyond the fun of watching them flail around). I think I'd best describe it as those experiences at theme parks where you're taken for a ride to different worlds in those stationary attractions.

Had a blast on Rez first which, while the head tracking to select targets probably wasn't the best or easiest way to play vs the controller, being in the world was a whole new experience in itself. Very cool.

Had a blast of VR Worlds, tried the shark demo. Again very cool and fun demo. The headlight helped make you feel you were really there and it was immersive. The shark was fun and gave you some slight jumps as it attacked. I'd have liked it more if you could use the move controllers to feel around too.

The London Heist was great. The first experience of coupling up with the moves and having hands in the game world. Lots of interactivity. Really made you feel as though you were there. Being able to light the cigar, open up drawers, type numbers... you know those basic every day things you do, but actually felt new and fun here. Aiming was a little hard to do I felt but this was an awesome first time experience as it took you through a short story.

Played this Apollo 11 game which was a nice little experience but was a little limited and graphical it's not great, but to lift off into space and feel as though you're in the shuttle was brilliant. Lacked any real interaction which would have made it better.

Next was Shooty Fruity which defo was the weakest imo. It's quite hectic as you're trying to do a lot at once. Still decent fun, but I wouldn't play it for any longer than I had to.

Job Simulator was probably one of the highlights and such a great laugh and huge fun. So much interactivity of everyday stuff but, you know, actually fun ha. Played the office job until home time and it was almost a shame to come back in to the real world. You do feel as though you're actually there and completely takes you out of it to the point where you're almost one with that world.

Lastly I played Rush of Blood. The first level which I guess eases you in a bit and is perhaps more of a training level, I didn't feel super convinced. Aiming seemed a little weird and awkward for some reason. But boy, once it gets going, this thing was quite terrifying. I actually wouldn't have wanted to play that alone the first time. There are a fair few genuine shocks and jumps throughout the ride. But again watching it on the TV vs playing it with the headset are 2 different things. The jumps just aren't really there unless you're up close and personally and it is quite scary.

Hardware wise it's light and comfy. That "screen door" effect (I think it's called?) is certainly apparent on most and graphically, they aren't the best, but none of that distracted from the experience completely. Sure if the picture quality was clearer it would have helped but it didn't make it any less fun. Tech is still early and for the price it is now, it's already quite something to experience. Though the wire hanging down from the headset to your side/back is annoying and can get in the way. I think it's just a lot of fun and gives a whole new perspective and experience on gaming. So much so I'll probably feel standard gaming is a little boring when I play today vs what I was doing last night as I readjust back in to the real world.

I think before last night, I probably wouldn't have cared if VR ended tomorrow and we never saw it again. But after last night I'm really excited to see what the next gen could bring. It's just a shame we don't see a whole lot of support (which is the major reason I've held off and been against it). I guess it might not be for everyone. It's a lot of wires and set up initially. But as it's new, it was certainly a rather unique and I guess, almost magically experience I'd certainly want to try more of.

Oh man, and you haven't tried Superhot VR, WipEout VR OR Firewall? You have some amazing experiences to try in the future!

Not yet ha. Feel like I've only sampled some of the delights so far. Hopefully my mate will bring it over for me to try some others. It may be still a bit too pricey right now for me to invest (despite it being much more affordable) but I will keep an eye out on good deals with the move controllers in the run up to Xmas.

So I complete "I expected you to die", here my quick review.

The game is fun, no doubt, the tracking is almost perfect, the missions are fun and diverse, the graphic is good, the puzzles are ok.

Now the bad news.

Is super short, really... and the fact that the levels have just one solution doesnt help... the "time attack" challenge is too hard and not so fun, I preferred to discover the others "challenges" that were sometimes fun to understand.
Also I found it too easy overall. My favourite was the underwater level.

So... I would suggest it? Yes, but a fair price, I say no more than 15€. I really was disappointed for how short it was... :\

About clarity of image, if you have a PS4PRO it does make a big difference, so if you feel really to go on playing VR games, I suggest to consider the upgrade. Rush of Blood have a huge leap in quality for example, but it is not the only one, all of the games looks sharper.
Sure VR is one of the best reason to upgrade

Thank you for the review. Just a heads up - did you also download the free DLC level? That might help add to your play time.
Yes I did, and I liked it because it has a couple of different solutions, but still too linear in the end... :(
I would buy an expansion with more levels, I hope they will do it in the future.

(next Doom VFR and Here They Lie)

Kingdom Hearts VR Experience at 41:20
PSVR footage at 1:20:00.
-Ace Combat 7 VR gameplay,
-Astro Robot Rescue,
-Deraciné release date
-Blood & Truth
-Kill X
-Deemo Rebirth
-Final Assault
-Space Channel
-Everybodies Golf

Hell yes
Can I say I was, like E3, majorly disappointed by the conference? The only new announcement is a Golf game (nothing against golf, but it's not for everyone).

Also: fuck. the. vr. "experiences".
They're nothing but a cruel tease of what a full vr game could be.

I really hope Sony is focusing on future games for PSVR2/PS5 because if this is all the support they're gonna give to vr not even 2 years from the release... then I'm starting to believe that all the "vr is doomed" idiots aren't so far from the truth :(

Space Channel 5 isn't the full game, is it? In the trailer they fight the first boss inside the spaceport instead of outside. I assume it's the only environment they recreated...

It's the Tokyo Game Show. It's strictly focused on Japanese audiences and showcasing Japanese developers. It's not an example of Sony's entire VR slate.
Maybe check out this thread:List of Upcoming PSVR Games for 2018 and Above

Man even over a year later Superhot continues to be the most unique and fun experience. With the Tekken games soundtracks this shit is glorious, trying to move full or close to full speed in endless mode is the best wave shooter ever and an extremely fun workout

I know perfectly what TGS is, and I've enjoyed its conferences for many years.
What I meant is that there were PLENTY of interesting announcements for PS4 but for PSVR what was there? A teaser for a sport game and an "experience" which will be 30 minutes long at most.
If you're happy with that I'm happy for you, but I'm starting to feel quite a deja-vu by this situation...

Don't know what you were expecting tbh. I'm curious, what major PSVR games have been announced at TGS in the last 2 years?

You're right, I should have kept my expectation at 0, because that's basically what we get at every conference everywhere lately.
Plenty of new PS4 announcements, 1 sport game for vr. This is fine.

But hey, it's not like every major third party publisher is showing less and less interest in releasing vr games, right?

Capcom: 0 vr games coming (despite an excellent beginning with RE7)
Square Enix: 0 vr games coming (oh but there's a Kingdom Hearts "experience", wow)
Sega: 1 port of a 1999 game
Konami: 0 vr games coming (1 port of a 2003 game recently released at least)
Bandai Namco: while they do have a VR arcade in Tokyo, all they have coming for PSVR is a "vr mode" with few missions for Ace Combat

EA: 0 vr games coming (and they went backwards too with Battlefront)
Activision: same as EA
Ubisoft: only Transference (which won't even bother giving a physical release), 0 after that releases next month
Warner Bros: 0 vr games coming

The only one seeming to care more is Bethesda, let's see if they'll last.

It boggles the mind why one would strictly focus on AAA studios to determine how well a lineup is doing lmao
