I want to give thanks to the developers for not only having full joystick support from Day 0, but also having support for multiple joysticks!

I adored flying the planes here with joystick and throttle.

However, I found a bug where I cannot remap the mouse to an action if I removed the action that was originally assigned to it.

I'm sorry, this ammo mechanic is a fucking deal breaker.

It is so annoying. Spend half my time looking for ammo crates.

It is bringing my enjoyment down drastically.

The entire ammo system has been the #1 best new thing about the game. It makes everything you do important and matter, it's a blast. Even with vehicles! It's the defining best part of the gameplay of BFV so far, next to the faster ttk.

I could max out BF1 on my very old PC and still managed to get 20-25 FPS (which is great considering my situation). Now even all lowest settings I am getting 7 FPS max. Dunno but it seems to be the least optimised Frostbite game to date (at least for me). Ah and also no reflections at all even on enhanced consoles eventhough all other Frostbite games had reflections. I hope final game will be more optimised while keeping high settings possible for all.

Support's large ammo pack really needs an icon on the screen. Everytime I drop it, I'm the only one uses it. Teammates can hardly see it, so they keep requesting ammo, even though it's right there.

I agree, it needs a bright icon or something to make it stand out. I think they don't have it however to stop the enemy team from destroying it.

Biggest gripe is battlefield has become an infantry shooter. Gone are the days of bf2 and 4 human and vehicle interplay.

Man, can I get some vehicles at some of the conquest flags?? Please?

Did they remove sniper glare because it's straight up impossible to see snipers on console
Yes I think they did. I don't mind it tbh, it can get annoying sometimes but again, it makes you play more tactically. Plus we can build tall sandbags at objectives which kinda forces the sniper to reveal their position and move in order to get an aim.

As a compromise, maybe glare could come back if that Sniper has been camping the same spot for ages (5-10 minutes). Don't forget, Sniping is a valid playstyle after all and in BFV they're vital sometimes when spotting enemies.

I play it and i like it but i really do prefer battlefield 4's type of gameplay. I don't understand why but maybe it's more arcadey. Does anyone feel the same way?

Not all objectives have good cover. On the snow map it's so easy to get sniped because of lack of cover. And since auto regen got nerfed and the ttk is reduced that buffs snipers. So removing glare is an added buff.

Yeah BF4 was really unique. I honestly thought V felt closer to 4 myself but apparently it's meant to feel 3 did which is also still good.

I'm enjoying it up to now. I dropped BF1 shortly after release due to it not feeling good to play. This though. I'm really enjoying this, it's fun and encourages team play.

But what about limited ammo, which is a nerf which directly affects Snipers? Other classes are never too far away from ammo. It falls from dead enemies and is permanently available at every objective. The Sniper however is sat on a hillside unable to get more ammo so is forced to run and gun with a pistol with which he is going to lose 99% of battles with.

Snipers cannot stay in position for too long without having to move. Narvik has more than enough cover if you use the tools given to you, get your tool out and look at the white icons. You can build everywhere at objectives.

Only played one round this morning. I'll play more when I'm off work tonight.

It's alright. I suck though. I haven't been good at an online fps since Killzone 2.

Played I think 5 matches tonight. Definitely enjoying it. I am on Team "I like the new ammo system." From what I've seen, I also think the guns have just the right amount of recoil.

It IS definitely a bit hard to see enemies. At the same time, I also think I like the removal of spotting.

There was one BIG bug where my friend got stuck in his death scene, and couldn't respawn. We had to quit out of that game and join another. Hopefully that gets ironed out. I also did get disconnected from one match, which sucked, because we were about 15 tickets away from winning.

My biggest positive takeaway is that we were actually able to party up and join a game....together...successfully, which is more than I can say for both BF3 and BF4 at launch, let alone before launch. Hell, BF4 didn't even have a system in place to speak of at launch.

Most likely a "buy" for me, but I will wait for impressions after launch, to make sure there's nothing seriously wrong with it.

Haven't been able to even download my beta because EA Access on the Xbone has a garbage UI, can't even select Battlefield V in the UI.

on your left map that marks them? I think Im missing something.

Anyone playing who I can join on PS4? I play medic

Only played 2 matches but I'm already having fun with it. Game feels great and the shooting is really good. Didn't take me long before I got the hang of the gun and started doing well. Running out of ammo really fast does suck a bit but with a good squad it shouldn't be a problem. Ima have to buy a PS4 pro to play this come release though.

Snuck behind the enemy and took out a few with my pistol before I got killed. Felt good lol

Drops to 40 fps on my i5 6500 / 1060 6gb no matter which settings I used...feels bad man :(

I found it decently enjoyable, rotterdamn being the better map. Lack of ammo was the only gameplay element that annoyed me. Oh well, game won't be for me until I upgrade my CPU...didn't realize it was such a piece of shit already!

Liking the fact my bullets go EXACTLY where my gun is aiming now. Makes your gun so much more reliable to use now. Kind of 50/50 on the low ammo count can't say I like or dislike it yet because it hasn't directly resulted in getting me killed yet. Somehow the fog seems even worse in this game than it was in BF1. Feels like the game just turned bloom on 100x and its a bit uncomfortable to look at. Definately a problem with seeing people though. Especially on the snow map. People just don't stand out enough and with the fast TTK, it could get frustrating because you don't even have time to react to said nearly invisible enemy.

No spotting. Limited ammo. No (limited) health regen. All of these delegated to their respective classes to make diversity worth a damn. Faster TTK forces more methodical playstyle. It's like this game was tailor made for me, lol. This has honestly been my favorite BF experience since BC2.

Another hard crash to desktop tonight with no error. Hopefully it uploads a log to DICE?

I also got stuck loading after a match. The rest of my squad was playing and after 3 minutes I had to alt-f4.

That is no fucking excuse to call the Developers Lazy. Get a grip.
It's possible they were suggesting it was a lazy design decision specifically, which is something I think you can say without meaning you think the devs themselves are lazy. Pretty much by default if you're a game developer you're the complete opposite of lazy lol. It's nothing but hard work.

I have a 4790K with all cores at 4.5 and a 980ti. Is it normal to be getting between 40-55 fps on medium and lower than that on ultra at 1080P? I get its a beta, but that is ridiculous.

Is it really?

I just recently upgraded to the X and I think it's great but not the best. But oh boy I don't even want to imagine the OG Xbox/S... it was very blurry with 720p, 50-60 FPS with low textures. Now imagine that on BFV...

It definitely looks like it's running under 1080p. Maybe it's just me, but BF1 looked sharper.

I guess I'll wait for the Digital Foundry video to see exactly what's up.

As expected, it doesn't feel like a WW2 game at all, just feels like a modern shooter with weird props. It really sucks, but it's been discussed to death already.

The TTK felt good to me, and I liked the way that the health and ammo changes altered the gameplay. It did feel like you had to play in a more tactical way, and players all seemed to be doing so. They all got a big tick.

The game is super janky. The revives, animations, and vehicles all have tonnes of clipping issues, and it means that nothing feels solid. It feels like you're playing in a world which is just a void with textures wrapped around it. Which it is, but the player should never feel that! This is by far the game's biggest issue. It's a huge one too.

Spotting changes weren't as bad as I thought they would be. I do think that tanks should be spotted the old way though, they should be vehicles that require teamwork to take down, and proper spotting makes that possible. They should be a new priority for your team whenever they appear.

Tanks need a boost in my opinion, at least going by the non-upgraded ones. They should be used to punch holes through the enemy lines, but instead they're just used to play around at the periphery here. It's a waste.

It feels like vehicles in general are an afterthought. It might just be these two maps, but they're already 25% of the maps at release. For a game that used to be all about vehicles, that's a real shame. The support's fortification tool will repair them BTW (not sure about other classes, didn't get a chance to check).

Fortifications feel like a bit of a white elephant. Maybe as people become more familiar with the maps some cool gameplay will come out of it, but I sure wasn't seeing it.

The menu/UI layout is really poor. It doesn't feel like there was any planning, but like eight people made stuff separately and then it was all just slapped together in one place afterwards.

Graphically, on PS4 Pro it looks OK. Some of the textures are still very rough, and the water effects (or complete lack thereof) in Rotterdam were almost PS2 era. Audio wasn't anywhere near as good as I was hoping either. DICE games generally raise the bar for the whole industry in that department, but I certainly wasn't getting that vibe here.

I get that it's a beta, but it feels like there is still way more dev time needed to get the game ready for release. It honestly feels like it should've been pushed back to early 2019.

There was one BIG bug where my friend got stuck in his death scene, and couldn't respawn. We had to quit out of that game and join another. Hopefully that gets ironed out.
Three of my friends and I had that bug last night in a single play session, so it's sadly very common. Seems to possibly be lag and involving critical deaths vs revive. The critical death notice is often super-slow to come up, and maybe there's a window where another player is able to initiate a revive?

Strange.. It worked for me with No problems and I didn't had to start the EA access app....

Yeah, it kind of sucks. Neither through the EA Access App or the Insider app at all can I download this. Not through any of my clients. It just says 'Get EA Access'

what sucks even more is that I had redeemed an Origin code for the beta and it was linked to my Xbox Live account, and I haven't even gotten anything from that either!

having the same weapons for both teams is unacceptable when they're trying to go for a slower and more realistic approach. this game feels incredibly rushed and a short single player to boot.. i don't blame people for feeling its BF1 all over again.

Something is going on with the framerate. I have a 144hz monitor but I'm just getting 60fps for some reason. It worked perfectly before and I didn't change anything. Battlefield 1 works just fine. Curious.

If you have DX12 enabled disable it. It made a huge difference for lot of us. I have a 1070 TI at 1440p and with it disabled I don't drop below 60. I am almost always around 72 (my monitor's refresh).

I feel like the lack of ammo kills the flow of the game. I'm discouraged from playing the objective because I'm out scrounging for ammo and health. I play the support and give out lots of ammo but most BF players do not give out ammo especially randos. This forced team togetherness is making me not like the game and I've been a BF player since the beginning. This is now the third BF game in a row that I dislike and BF is supposed to be my favorite shooting franchise. -_-' I'm getting worried guys.

So you didn't like BF4 or BF1? That's like 6 years w/o a game you liked in the franchise yet its still your favorite? ...now I know someone feels the pain I feel w/ Halo.

I kept running into a bug where I would try to spawn and it wouldn't happen. Spawning on a teammate just wouldn't process, and spawning on a location would give me "that spot is no longer available" even though it was the perma-spawn. Oddly, I could get into a plane , and obviously crash it, but I'd still be stuck in the same spawn situation.
