Free money, why make it Switch exclusive. Since they have decided to not even make it mobile exclusive by moving it to home consoles.
I believe it is just cutscenes and some battling. No exploration at all.
Fun fact this will be the first ever mainline Final Fantasy game to come to a Nintendo console in the PAL regions (outside of Virtual Console stuff). We got Mystic Quest, a bunch of handheld ports, Explorers, a music game, 4 Heroes of Light and all the Crystal Chronicles but no mainline Final Fantasy games on Nintendo consoles for Australian Nintendo fans.
How soon is "soon" for Switch? The game bored me to death on PS4 but the pocket version looks better than I thought and I always enjoy rpgs more when I can take them with me...
However, if Switch can't get day and date releases of mobile ports (that the other platforms already have the OG versions of), that's pretty kinda fucked up. Hopefully "releasing soon" has something to do with the Direct delay, although that doesn't really make any sense either.

I've always been interested in the Pocket Edition. I would have bought it on my phone except S-E didn't release it on the Singapore Google Play Store for some reason even though they have everything else here. It looked far more interesting than the base XV game to me, and I wanted to play it on the go. This seems perfect for the Switch!
Wtf. Why the hell would I want that then if there's no exploration.
I mean, I'm glad this port exists, I'd hate to see a unique version of the game locked to mobile, but uhh, wow, that pricing.
I don't understand why you'd count this as a mainline game, but not the handheld versions like Dawn of Souls or whatever, which are way more faithful.
Does it? Maybe it's like when FFXV firat came out and you can't get off the road and it's basically on auto-pilot
It is what it is. At least Switch (or rather, Nintendo-only) owners will get to experience the journey and story of FFXV.
I said console though so not counting handheld ports like those.

Switch owners who want to play FFXV but have no means of playing the actual non-fugly version.
Switch better have a launch price of $17.99, would be ridiculous if they kept it at $29.99
To be fair it's a decent idea for mobile and the switch which obviously were out of the question for FFXV proper, it's just the execution that's pretty poor.
There's no reason they wouldn't offer the same launch discount on Switch as they are the other versions.

Not everyone is as down on XV as you are. Contrary to what you vocal minority like people to think, XV was a well received game.
