Seriously, Nicalis physicals are a treat.

  • Cave Story
  • Isaac
  • Blade Stangers
  • Code of Princess
  • And coming later (Crystal Crisis).
All these games came with at least a color manual at minimum. Plus OST mini disc sampler and stickers/keychain. **All without special/LE prices.**

Extra little touches like these are really appreciated. Makes me treasure their releases, and wish more companies would consistently do this.

Nisa?

Always releasing a bunch of Niche games with a bunch of extra goodies, and I've got quite a few of them.

Spain
Yeah, any company that releases those games in Europe as well.
This

Anything they release I just import it from USA because whether or not it comes to Europe, and when if it does, is completely random. The only European game I got from them is Isaac Afterbirth+ for Switch and I suspect they'll randomly stop updating it while they keep updating the USA version

Is there a company that tops Nicalis in terms of not putting out patches to their games and shipping buggy games in general?

Personally I hate Nicalis physical releases since they needlessly jack up the digital prices to match. Games like Cave Story, Ittle Dew 2, Tiny Barbarian and Code of Princess should be $20 tops. Like they are on Steam.

For whatever reason they didn't do this for The End is Nigh though.

Are we only talking about smaller publishers here? Because I thought Nintendo was pretty much renowned in the industry for being the #1 at this.

Atlus has been consistently great with this in my experience, and from the few Sega physical games I've bought recently (well, every Yakuza since 0), their day one editions have been pretty good too.

They've even managed to combine the two with patches that skipped Europe lol.

Nintendo.

Edit:

Wait, is it:
  • Not putting out patches (because there is no need to)?
  • Not shipping buggy games (Nintendo rarely ships buggy games)?
Or:
  • Not putting out patches?
  • Shipping buggy games?

Putting out buggy games and then taking forever to patch them.

I love Binding of Isaac, but boy oh boy, Edmund and Tyrone is a glitchfest pairing made in hell.
