At least 3 injured and fatalities have been confirmed according to that story. A German tourist saw the guy walking around firing. A woman was shot walking into a bank because she was wearing headphones and didn't hear a shouted warning.

I don't even believe that a majority of Americans want to live like this anymore. It's literally the tyranny of an insane minority (plus the gun lobby) holding us hostage.
For the record, this Fifth Third Bank location is the national headquarters. It's a big place of business.

I think you are giving Americans too much credit.
We have a lot of crazy people in this country.
Even taking gun control out of it this happens on a regular basis and our government does nothing. Not even any research which is the very least those chickenshit cowards could do. And we as people don't do enough to express our outrage other than posting stuff on twitter or Facebook.

The bare minimum they could do is avoid using the expression "thoughts and prayers". Who can take it seriously these days?
