Final Fantasy VII coming to Switch?

I don't know if this should even be a thread, but in the GameXPlain Direct Prediction video, they randomly say "Final Fantasy VII getting announced for Switch and released after the Direct.

Here's the video in mention.



We also heard recently from rumors that Square Enix will be in the direct and a supposed insider said there are Final Fantasy titles coming to Switch (FF:XV PE leaked on PSN)

Now you could just say it was just a plain prediction but GXP does know inside info and the original FFVII coming to Switch and getting released tomorrow is a huge prediction and very left field.

What do you think?

Lock if not needed mods.

Edit: PS1 VERSION, not the remake.

It's a prediction from a prediction video...


Although I'd like to know if it's even possible. I though Sony has the console exclusive rights.

Let me understand this right .... what made you do a thread about FF7 instead of ANY OTHER "prediction" on this video ?

I'm honestly surprised they haven't released the Steam versions of VII-IX on Switch. Or even FFX/2. Or even World of Final Fantasy. Square has a big backlog of stuff they could easily slap on the Switch.

Because of how left field it was, every other prediction was a thing that could happen, but FFVII coming to Switch and shadowdropping is something nobody really feels like it would happen.

Like I said, It was an interesting thought. Guess we will know tomorrow.

I would dig it tho. Its the final fantasy that got away in Nintendo's eyes. Would be awesome to see it finally hit a nintendo system.

I mean, it's not like it's a big deal either way?

Unless they reworked it significantly, the PC and PS4 ports are pretty barebones and lackluster. Hardly "shadow drop" worthy lol.

I wouldn't doubt it if Square eventually started spamming ports out everywhere. They just cobbled together a decent version of Chrono Trigger that could easily be ported around the consoles now. But I'd have thought they would have say, ported more of them over to PS4 over the years but they didn't. So who knows?
