This is a reference to C++ programming language. Note that in the programming world, C and C++ are two different languages, but C++ is C + 1. So it may hint something new in Game Dev Story.

WOOO!!!

Kairosoft will be bringing the simulation games Game Hatten-Koku++ (Game Dev Story) and Yukemuri Onsen-kyou (Hot Springs Story) to Nintendo Switch. Game Dev Story lets you manage your own game company and try to create a million-selling game whilst Hot Springs Story lets you build your own resort. Both games will be at the Tokyo Game Show later this month.

Holy fucking SHIT, out of nowhere! This is the Kairosoft game I recommend to everyone! I loved this game so much, and I'm definitely going to pick this up.

It's a great game, but a little over-simplistic. Once you get your groove after you've got about half a million in the bank provided you don't over-extend yourself it's plain sailing until you're making hundreds of millions and then billions. The only real way they complicate it is through cheap ideas like blackouts. Been replaying it recently on my phone and it's very addictive in the short term but can't keep me engaged over longer periods.

I played this on mobile, it's great, might get it on Switch too, at least I wont destroy my battery that way lol. What other (english localized) Kairosoft games are recommended?

Please let it be the same price as the mobile version...though I'd say this is unlikely.

Great games!

This is going to be way overpriced, isn't it. I'm betting $20 at launch.

I liked it way back when but there are so few options it actually gets boring after a short while despite its addictive nature.

Oh god that game is absolutely excellent. Not sure I'd buy it again but I played a lot of the phone version many, many years ago. All of their games that I've played are great.
It sucks that that one game that ripped it off pretty directly did so much better.

I think there was a sequel i hope this is a good solid port. They never updated the iPhone version to use the larger display size when they moved to 16x9 nor brought the sequel.

I'll probably buy this though if its 10$ maybe 15$ I love this game

I got burnt out on Kairosoft fairly quick, but that was a wonderful time in iOS games (...even if they were ports of old java phone games, weren't they?) that I'm nostalgic for.

I loved Game Dev Story, it was the only Kairosoft game I played. Completed it. It was a few years ago now. I think you had to last 10 in-game years. Can't really remember.

Wow!! This came out 7 years ago on iOS. Also, with all the languages it only takes up a couple of hundred meg in size.
It came out in 1997, so it's 21 years old now.

If you want to play the PC version (which I believed is free), you can do so on Kairosoft's official homepage:

http://kairosoft.net/pc/gamedev.html

Requirements:
  • Windows 95
  • Japanese localization/Japanese Language Pack

Oh man, I've spent so many hours on Game Dev Story. I made the perfect console with the perfect games. I also loved how the consoles were parodies of real ones. I hope this will have more content, because the original would get pretty repetitive after a while.

eShop truly turning into the play store. I'm not sure I feel good about that. Play store feels like it has a million games, most of which are trash. If mobile devs start targeting Switch en masse it's going to ruin it. I'm already in the verge of never checking what the new weekly games are because there's just so much trash.

Hmmm, now I think about it, Game Dev Story and Hot Springs Story for Nintendo Switch should be updated to include Nintendo Switch exclusive contents, otherwise, it wouldn't be on the platform in the first place.
