The only difference between the two will be frame-rate.I think I'll go with the PS4 version. I had high hopes about the Switch version but things don't look pretty.

Embargo for the game lifts tomorrow morning. So all questions will be answered then.
Do you know what platform they were playing on the stream? I should be getting it for PS4 tomorrow and am eager to see if it runs better on there.
You're just going to have to play this for yourself to decide, but as someone who has been playing SNK fighters since Fatal Fury 1...this is the first time I've started playing a new SNK fighter and felt so undecided about it. I think the game's themes combined with the radically changed-up playstyle are going to turn a lot of people off to it. That said, it's way too early for me to pass any kind of judgement on this game (apart from the framerate issues on Switch) and I am enjoying the hell out of having Shermie playable again.
That's pretty much all that matters in a fighting game.
This looked like ass on switch at EVO. I couldn't see myself buying that version.
This isn't really the most intricate fighting game. It's basically an SNK Smash game. I've put in over 12hrs with the game since getting review code last week, and frame-rate would be on the lower end on my list of concern.Seeing Kukri as this evil-mastermind pervert is so weird, LOL.
That's a pretty big deal when it comes to fighting games. I don't find it unplayable on Switch, but if it is a solid 60 on PS4, it's going to be hard to go back to it.
That's really disappointing, reduced iq would be a much better concession imo. Framerate is essential for a fighting game like this, I really hoped they would be able to fix that by the time the game came out so it's sad to see that's not the case.

What is the difference here between "Story Mode" here and the traditional arcade mode that was a given in every fighting game release until recently?
I know I should wait until tomorrow but are there any PS4 Pro enhancements? Like solid 60fps @1440p.
What are the win conditions? Best of 2 rounds? 1 round? Both fighters KO'd? Cut scenes skippable?I'm playing through it now- It's basically the game's arcade mode, just with cut scenes inbetween each battle. The final boss is Kukri himself (two of him on a team).
No embargo for me, so if you have any questions...ask away!
No Pro enhancements AFAIK. The big thing to check on will be the framerate. People should start getting copies from NISA today or tomorrow, plus the game is already out in Japan, so we should hopefully know soon.

I am looking at Japanese eShop now, my hand is moving on it's own. I should wait until tomorrow.
If you KO/Super one opponent is the match over or does the other opponent tag in?One round matches. I almost hesitate to say this, because it's going to give the wrong impression, but finishers are kind of like how Playstation All-Stars worked, where you have to K.O. the opponent with a super move. However, unlike that game, you get super meter often, can dizzy the opponent to make it easy to finish them, and if the timer runs out, the game chooses a winner based on other factors. So it goes quick.
The Japanese version runs in English on Switch, but it is its own region game, I.E. any future DLC will need to be purchased off the J-eShop. If that doesn't bother you, no reason not to get it now!

I lived 2 years in Japan so it shouldn't be a problem. There is one more thing I want to ask. How does it run on handheld ? That is the mode I'll play most of the time.
Beat Kukri. Why are there multiple Kukris having a dance party now!? LMAO.

Tried it undocked.
Bad news- the framerate takes a nosedive. It seems to be variable and has dips all over the place. Feels like 60 FPS once second then goes down to 30 FPS another second.
Is it still playable? Yes, because of the simple mechanics. Should the game have been released in this state? Nope. No excuse for this when other fighting games on Switch have no issues with framerates. Disappointed again.
I'm not sure I'm into this, sounds like a completely different animal. The match is over when either character is KO'd. Not that you don't just get a super built up and hit the opponent to win the match; you have to get the opponent's lifebar down to a certain point first and then hit them with it. You can't lose from running out of life.

And the handheld performance being bad isn't great for someone that mostly plays handheld.

No crouch, no cross up and a block button, kind of killed all my hype, on top of that i wanted this on switch with the low tier online. I think i'm going to skip it and get it later on steam with a sale.
What the fuck is going on with the story of this game.
I wasn't planning on it, but I'll do a docked vs undocked video for SNK Heroines showing the visual and performance differences.
