Them not going a traditional origin route doesn't mean they want touch base on how she got where she is. They just don't want to take forever in getting her out into space and to get familiar with her crew. Probably flashes back to her being drunk off her ass on Earth, Mar-Vell sees something in her, offers her a chance to get her shit together and be under his command.

My choice for Carol Danvers would have been another actress, I don't know why I don't buy her as CM yet.

Costume looks good, we need the sash!

So Carol Danvers is going all Green Latern on us? I didn't realise there was an organisation. Curious to see Korvath there too. He betrays the good guys?

Or am I looking at this wrong? Are they like a group that has been genetically manipulated by the Kree to use as soldiers, but Carol is the one that defects?

The Kree are an empire, and the route they are going with this seems to be that Carol got trained under their command (as opposed to her comic origin of getting powers because of the Kree, but not even remembering that she's going out superheroing for a while).

The Nova Corps are way more the Green Lantern equivalent. The Kree are just a military empire.

Honestly, my only true criticism is the Skrulls appearance. Maybe if they would've used a darker shade of green like they do in the comics and use the helmet, they wouldn't look so Star Treky to me.

Haven't seen Ant-Man and the Wasp yet, but I was super impressed with what I saw in Guardians 2

Not sure if I remember it correctly, but I think Civil War had a scene with a younger RDJ and it looked pretty good there as well

I can't find it, but I'm sure there was concept art where the Skrulls had the skull caps and they looked kind of like helmets.

I'm pretty sure it's closer to the latter. I'm betting she's a Shield agent in 90's that winds up getting tangled up with the Kree somehow and gaining powers. Maybe Fury tells her to stay there and join them as deep cover or something? Anyway, then that's a Kree Military team she's on, their commander will be Mar Vell (Jude Law), and some bad stuff will happen that will result in her leaving the Kree, including some tragic end for Mar Vell that leads her to take his name for her superhero name. And then she'll head back to Earth when her old Shield pager goes off.

It all looks superb so far imo. Skrulls look great too, and no doubt will get touched up to look even better in post. Glad they didn't go entirely CG with them.
