I agree! I mean we get some occasional stuff, but I think it's because graphics are never touted as a game "feature." When graphics are presented in the same breath as content, the lack of reduction hits harder.

He's been popping up in a few rumors and people view the Moon's inclusion as an assist trophy as an indication that Skull Kid may be playable. And then some people think the furniture in the room Sakurai is presenting in hints to Skull Kid as well.

I don't really put any stock into these, but that's what the situation is right now.

With the magic of Lady Bow, this might actually be a thing that happens.
