I want Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2 to get a re-release.

Seriously, is there some sort of legal reason they can't re-release any of the Viewtiful games? I'd take just the first one, even. I never did beat it back in the day and I'd love to play it again in HD.

Anyone else crave the Joe?

I would rather have the third episode.

But a nicely made remaster of VJ 1+2 wouldn't hurt in the meantime. I guess the franchise sold very poorly though, hence little interest in pursuing a re-release. :-(

I certainly do, but it'd only make the pain because of that third episode not being a thing all the more apparent, on the same token.

Also, I wouldn't really want a third game unless the original PlatinumGames crew was on hand to finish it.

Same. With Onimusha getting a re-release, Viewtiful Joe doesn't seem too far out there. It'd just be nice if Capcom did both games in a single box, or at least at the same time, but given how they're handling Onimusha, how they handled Dead Rising and Resident Evil, etc. they'll probably each be released separately.

Would rather have a VJ3, but it doesn't seem to fit Capcom's current aesthetic with their games, nor would they properly hire Platinum, so I doubt it'll happen

With rumors of a third one coming, it's very possible. I'd love it as well.

To clarify, the dude who leaked Ridley/Simon/everyone coming back for Ultimate said VJ3 was coming. He's been right about a lot of stuff, but his Castlevania collection still hasn't happened.

Why do that when there's probably one or two obscure pieces of hardware that haven't yet seen an Okami port.

I have wanted the collection for ages. There was a time when I thought it would never happen, but now I just think it is a matter of time. Capcom are literally rereleasing everything at this point.

Don't do this, Kamiya would just get annoyed saying ask Capcom plus he is blocking anyone who tweets at him in English.

No, that doesn't sound like something Kamiya would do. He's always really courteous when dealing with fans on Twitter. You must be thinking of someone else.

Yeah. It's definitely strange these games have never been ported to more modern consoles. They're true classics that deserve more exposure.

There's also been some people suggesting that Liam Robertson has been indirectly hinting at it's existence as well (Platinum supposedly working on another "surprising" collaboration, Liam asking on Twitter whether people would rather see an Okami or Viewtiful Joe sequel), there were a bunch of people under the impression that Nintendo was going to have a Platinum-related announcement this E3 (probably one of the few implied "big games" Nintendo are sitting on), and Kamiya has been retweeting a lot of Viewtiful Joe related tweets ever since E3.

I refuse to believe it to be true yet, but who knows.

I expct it sooner or later. The games were well received and pretty high profile, plus Capcom's running out of other "big" stuff to remaster now that they've enhausted RE, DMC, Dead Rising, Dragon's Dogma, Okami, MMX7/8, etc. They even started Onimusha and I bet Lost Planet isn't far off.

I want to see their more obscure Gen 6 stuff remastered too myself: BOF Dragon Quarter, Gotcha Force, God Hand, Under the Skin, PN03, Steel Batallion, Haunting Ground, Auto Modellista, Shadow of Rome, MMX Command Mission, MM Network Transmission...

Yeah, I really don't want to get my hopes up, but it fits the bill as a Platinum/Nintendo exclusive.

Do you know what a VJ re-release needs?

Subtitles.

The audio mixing during cutscenes is so rough, and the cutscenes are nigh-unintelligble sometimes.
Gran Bruce might as well be making random tuba noises.

I'd buy the re releases for sure. I still have all the games on game cube, including the 4 player party fighter , but I'd want to support it .

The DS Viewtiful Joe is also pretty neat, should be a triple pack imo.

EDIT: Red Hot Rumble can die in a ditch for all I care.

One sold a million copy in Japan the other pretty much did nothing everywhere even after not being exclusive anymore (from GC to PS2 to GC/PS2, then on DS and GC/PSP) and even with some help from Nintendo outside Japan.

It might come, but in term of commercial success Onimusha is miles ahead.

Both Liam Robertson and DasVergeben says otherwise.
Not that I 100% believe them (especially not Liam), but hey.
I actually think it's possible with how much Kamiya talk about Joe right now.
