Oh god this is going to kill me then. I prefer playing all of my games in english, but loads of games (mainly the LEGO ones) force that horrible german dub on me.
That's one thing I love the Naughty Dog games for, they give you the choice. God of War allowed me to change the language too AFAIK.
this is kind of off-topic. but i wonder what the solution is going to be next gen regarding game sizes. like, spiderman doesn't even have 4k texture assets and it's already reaching blu-ray capacity. what are they going to do next gen so that the physical release is actually all present and correct on disc to be played offline? or will all games go the route of the switch/spyro? fit whatever you can on the 'disc' and download the remainder?

Playstations countdown to launch page has an exclusive Wallpaper but the website doesn't function properly.
The three suits and spider-drone are all available in the game, they just won't require any work to unlock them if you get them via pre-ordering. And you'd have to earn the five skill points in game instead of them being handed to you.
AFAIK you'd just lose out on the theme and the avatar but Insomniac could surprise everyone and have them be available for a month as a "day one" package, like some companies do.
I don't have an option to pre-load. I pre-ordered the digital deluxe game a few weeks back, when I go to the store page it says I already purchased but there is no option for pre-load. How can I start this?
Even if they didn't let you choose, changing the system language should force the language, right?

Yeah. They should appear only in the PS4 Pro version of new game plus.
Yeah, I didn't think about that, since I always keep the text in English as well. Hopefully they'll change it in a patch, it's pretty crazy you don't already have this option.
If you're on PS4, go to your library then into purchases. Scroll and find Spider-Man, click on it and then click on the timer. That should open a page and it'll show if auto-download is enabled or not.

Go to your game library, go to purchased, find Marvel's Spider-Man, click the auto download checkmark if you haven't and it should start going for you.
Insomniac, make this new character. Doesn't even have to be about puddles but darn nabit, this is somehow too good of an idea to pass up.

I ordered it digitally through Amazon and my copy says it won't be available until 12 AM on 9/7 :(

Wait the game does not have language options? Pretty much every Sony exclusive (and most multiplatform games) lets you choose voice and text language separately.
I know I can change the language of the console to get english voices but we should not have to do that.

I've suggested a system level toggle for this years ago on that PS share feedback site. My idea would've been to add a system level language picker for "Games", similar to the pickers we have for bluray content (you can pick a default language for bluray audio).
That way you could have your system language in e.g. german and all your games audio in english. Pretty sure it got quite a few upvotes, but you know how it is.
Sony somehow takes decades to implement basic functionality, like the contextual PS button for notifications took 1 or 1 1/2 years to arrive (so pressing the PS button on a message notification popup would take you right to the message, before that we had to manually navigate there). Can't wait for the PS5 release with another barebones OS that requires 4 years of updates to reach usability feature parity with the previous OS.

And it's something in the team's radar now. Not sure if we will get an update here, but we realized a lot of people want independent VO / Subtitle control and I'll continue advocating it.
Any chance of it containing cool filters like cel-shaded, black and white? Kinda like in the Uncharted games? Would be dope.

Remote Play would work if you have it set up. I did it with DQ11 earlier this week.
I'm in EST so it's either stay up until midnight on Thursday night or start the download Friday morning before I leave for work.
I swear I was able to pre-load GOW when I got a digital copy of that from Amazon. Not sure why I can't do the same thing with Spider-Man.
I will play the game for the third time and possibly fourth time with the cel shaded and black white filter. Maybe in the future update? Make it happen jstevenson
