"I don't know why they don't take care of a situation like that," Trump said. "I think it's embarrassing for the country to allow protesters. You don't even know what side the protesters are on.

Boom!

Im mostly done worrying too much about what our collective senile Nazi grandpa rants about when he's in a bad mood.

Vote his allies out of office and insure that he's a cornered rat until his term ends or he resigns in disgrace.

Taking a page from GWB's book when Bush once said "There ought to be limits on freedom", in response to criticism about him being said on the internet.

Kent State should remind you all that the GOP has never looked kindly upon protesters.

Nixon wouldn't say it so blatantly and stupidly, but listen to the tapes and read the books. He shared Trump's sentiments.

The party has been rotten and anti-democratic (not just anti-Democratic) for over a half-century.

Never forget that at the time 70% of people polled blamed the students for Kent State.

You don't know what side the protesters are on? Maybe look at the signs and listen to the chants. Could be a good indicator.

I mean, this country in general, and the Presidency as a whole, has a long history of despising and stifling protest. Just go look at how Washington handled the Whiskey Rebellion in 1791 for proof of that.

Basically, yeah. At the end of the day, even the GOP members of Congress don't want him with absolute power. Heck, even his own White House staff are constantly undermining him. He's probably the least powerful President we've had overall in decades as a result.
So that's likely why he says he doesn't know "what side they're on"?

Honestly, what kind of response to my post is "so what"? Someone asked a question, I gave a response based on my interpretation of the quote.

I think it's generally pretty easy to know what side any given prostester is on

how the fuck can he say you don't know which side they're on?! it's always pretty goddamn fucking obvious.

It's because he doesn't know how much people hate him. He thinks the protests are FOR him, but when he sees a huge group with anti-Trump signs, and a smaller group with pro-Trump signs, he literally doesn't understand because his aides/lackeys/asskissers told him that most people support him.

Yes, the leader of America is THAT stupid. God help us.

One thing I don't think gets enough attention is that fascism doesn't doesn't start by just grabbing power for gain, it's a byproduct of paranoia when an already powerful ego is faced with mass dissent. Suddenly everything is an attack and needs to be stamped out and you get in so deep that you either crush the opposition or get mauled to death by it. Trump and his cronies know he's pretty much cornered which is why they are going to throw the rules out in a desperate bid to hold on to what they have.

There is some irony about all the alt-right rallies that have had clashes with antifa were "protests", with the opposition being the counter-protestors.

Protestors always say why they are protesting for, otherwise that protest is nonsensical. This applies regardless if they are getting paid or not. Thus his comment is pure stupidity.

Additionally, I fail to see the reason why something so blatantly stupid requires interpretation or rationalization. Thus, I replied "so what?" to your response.
