Will be interesting to see how this pans out. I haven't played a COD since Ghosts I think but don't know how I'd feel about going back to something like it.

Some locations: https://charlieintel.com/2018/09/04/gameinformer-reveals-some-of-the-locations-in-blackout/
  • Estates: The rich neighborhood has a giant helipad where Little Bard can spawn. Good location if you want a shot at getting a chopper early.
  • Construction Sites: The unfinished skyscraper has a ton of loot and lots of opportunities to base jump out of the high areas to safety if things get hot.
  • Array
  • Nuketown Island
  • Firing Range
  • Hydro Dam
  • Asylum
  • Cargo Docks
  • Factory
  • Fracking Tower
  • Turbine
  • Rivertown

eh, not really. People who say this don't really seem to know what actually made Battle Royale popular, and a 60$ AAA annual title really isn't going to do much. There hasn't been a single COD that has sold even remotely as much as PUBG. Even the best selling one is like at least 20 million shy.

PUBG sold very well in 2017, when it didn't have much competition. It's a janky game that doesn't even have 1/10th the polish of the worst CoD. Without Shroud and DrDisrespect and the like still playing (and both are all over BO4) it likely would have sold very poorly this year.

With this and Fortnite, there is no room for PUBG.

Again, just shows how little you know about PUBG tbh. 400 million players is not something CoD will ever reach. It's not happening. CoD and BF are not going to take any "room" away from it.

80 is good as long as the map is small enough. The 100 for PUBG is actually not even enough for how large 2 of the 3 maps are. They probably want there to be enough to do at the start instead of just at the end with relation to map size.

400 million people do not own PUBG, that sounds like the player count over the life of the game. Look at who is talking about CoD that would have never talked about it before. I do know about PUBG, and the mindshare has fallen off a cliff since this time last year (you didn't say anything about my comment that most of PUBG's success was in 2017, and especially on Steam).

Come on, CLEARLY more people are playing Fortnite than PUBG, and player counts have dropped off in comparison to that reality. It's about mindshare, time and money. That's about to get alot worse when literally every PUBG streamer is hyped about BO4.

Again, this just shows how little you know. We have actual stats. There are more people playing PUBG than Fortnite. CoD and BF are not going to have any noticeable effect in either Fortnite or PUBG. CoD and BF will never reach PUBG sales and even less PUBG user numbers.

This game sounds super ambitious and they sound very dedicated

I think this has a ton of potential. And if they add screen screen id be over the moon

You have stats showing that more people are playing PUBG on X1/PC right now than Fortnite on PC/PS4/XB1/Mobile/Switch?

I can't wait for this, what I'm seeing on Twitter it looks great!

This is obviously where the single player time has gone.

Yes. PUBG has 400 million users total and 220 million monthly.
Fortnite has 125 million players, 40 million monthly

Well I don't have all the numbers but I do see in this Steam chart that PUBG has lost half of its average monthly active players since the beginning of the year. I mean boxing still exists as a sport but it isn't nearly as popular as it used to be and no one talks about it anymore...that was more of what I meant (you seem to take it as me saying zero people will play this game starting on CoD's launch date).

Looking forward to seeing gameplay later in the week. How much I enjoy the beta will depend on if I buy the game at launch. Haven't done that for a CoD game in awhile.

It seems like they're really going for it. They could really get a sizable chunk of the Battle Royale market, especially with Battlefield V's approach seeming just a big further from the expectations of a Battle Royale mode.
They gonna roll. The install base of PS4 is huge and only have Fortnite (more cartoony) For those who want a military and more realistic shooter.... Cod will reign alone. For me, on PC, the question is If It will have a community......

Curious what cosmetics they're going to have for this game and if they're going to do events like fortnite does.,

Seeing the leaks of images of the map. This is getting me hyped more than the MP.

I just love the idea of a PUBG competitor, and the way they are adding zombies sounds satisfying.

Well, maybe the BR mode will be good. Regular beta multiplayer was complete trash.

I wasn't sure they were capable of pulling this off, but the screens look gorgeous, and details sound absolutely fantastic tbh. 80 players with more to come, zombies, high framerate, interesting map design, choppers, in-game missions to unlock characters... I am more and more hyped. Treyarch makes some of the mechanically finest shooters on the market, that buttersmooth gameplay with an ambitious design is what could make me move away from all other BRs tbh. Looking forward to gameplay videos and the beta.
