I wasn't attacking you, sorry if it came across that way. And no don't have any proof I just think people are sad enough to do that for any high profile exclusive for any of the 3 consoles.
I looked at some reviews and it seems an amazing spidey game like it was already clear from the beginning. Some points in the review like the structure of the missions being a bit outdated and the sidequests are a bummer but I'm obviously going to pick it up later this year.

I had to take a look at this, as I remember that a ridiculous number of games last generation received 90+ on Metacritic and, lo and behold, you are absolutely right:
Exclusives wise:
PlayStation 4 ~ Bloodborne, God of War, Persona 5, Shadow of the Colossus and Uncharted 4.
Switch ~ Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Oddssey.
Xbox One ~ Forza Horizon 3.
It's so, so tough to break the 90 barrier nowadays.
Anyhoo, I was always going to buy this however, it's good to see that the general conscious is remarkably positive and is really pleasingly hailed as the best web slinging Spider-Man yet.

Does anyone know whats preventing the player from leaving the city? Is there a giant invisible wall or does spider Man say something and turn around? Haven't seen any mention of it .
I'm waiting right now. I still have Yakuza Kiwami 2 to finish and I'm only on chapter 4. After putting more time into Ni No Kuni 2 I kind of need a break from RPG's. Yakuza, Spiderman, and my Newgame+ of God of war are doing alright for me until Red dead 2 comes out.
I kind of want to jump back in to Ni No Kuni 2 just for the Kingdom building stuff. I didn't max it out.

I don't know if you have never played Elder Scrolls or BOTW.
The interactivity you have with the world, it's level design and game design are nothing alike.
The game that look the most like BOTW's game design in term of open world is MGS V.
Knew it was only a matter of time before the salt started getting delivered, and people are getting regular checkups on their Sodium intake and seeing they need to slow down a bit.
They still have to deliver on the next Ratchet & Clank as well that they literally referenced to doing so within the last game.
Holy shit at this thread. Just glancing through it, it is unreal how it appears to be the perfect microcosm of everything that is so incredibly wrong with the gaming community.
On top of another Ratchet game as well, so yea. Who knows honestly if Resistance series doesn't come back in some compacity like a reboot with a remake of the first game, or a trilogy remaster by Blue Point.
People are just salty that's all. Especially on games that have a lot of hype around them and are a contention for console wars.
PS4 dominance this gen has been because of big games like Spiderman doing well in both reception and sales, and I think all the positive talk every year makes people irritable where they want games to fail or come in under expectations. SO that they can breath a little and be able to have talking points.
I truly believe it's the reason Polygon is getting rid of score reviews same with what Kotaku did, they don't want the console war bs on their comment sections. Which is why a lot of threads Metacritic this/that get shit down after 15 pages or so.

It's at 87 right now...but I'm getting increasingly worried that it'll drop to 86 or even 85, God forbid. This much talk just to match Mario + Rabbids would seriously deflate the hype behind this game, including my own.

It shows parts of a few more missions and a big new character not revealed yet. I would avoid it.
If anything HZD is the better comparison for Spider-Man. In terms of hype, high reviews........... and eventual consensus.
Sure, I'm looking forward to seeing what this game does nonetheless, but basically anything that looks to shake up the mission structure is what I'm really hoping for in future games, possibly even in SM2

The first person to bring it up did it as a joke and the second person to bring it up was clearly not a Zelda fan who, out of nowhere, decided to post an inflammatory "critique" of the game. This ain't "Zelda fans" fault, as much as you'd want it to be.
Looks good. Great scores in general plus 9.5 from Easy Allies, who are usually my go-to for reviews these days.

I know right, the choice between an open world game or a srpg has never been harder!!
The "high quality single player gaming" category is dominated by Sony and Nintendo for now.
When Gears 5 and Halo Infinite come out, expect BotW and God of War to be brought up a lot in those threads.
Hell by that time we may be on TLOUII and Metroid Prime 4.
