I haven't been following the white Sox in terms of roster moves, but after the break last year, Oakland went all in on the younger players / rookies and we've seen that momentum carry over to this year.
The white Sox were pretty bad the first half of the year, hopefully you guys are indeed moving past that
The whitesox traded for a bunch of players a few years back and they have been slowly trickling to the majors or figuring things out. Really the amount of pitching talent they have in general is crazy.
getting rodan back in general has helped

in general the bats have been doing better with the younger players hitting .270-.290 for the last 7 games instead of their current season averages of .230-.250 they should just improve with more time.
Adam Engel will be an interesting one to watch in general as his defense is solid and he is a serious base stealing threat if he gets on base, so if he can improve that he will be good.
but they also have a number of well regarded prospects such as Eloy Jimenez who should offer a lot with his bat in the future. And a low payroll with room to add free agents (and last I checked this should be a solid free agent season) so if they go out and spend some money (which given the age of the owner and his want to win there is a decent chance they will) they could potentially compete next year.
but we will have to see, they have been targeting 2020 so it's possible they won't spend and won't compete next year still.
