People got upset that popular OTs from Hangouts were on the first page of both EtcetEra and Entertainment.
They made an announcement thread, that's all well and good, but we should be allowed to have a discussion about it. Not just "this is our statement, that's the end of it." Just my two cents before this gets locked.

It seems clear that the change overnight was rather misguided. What's more misguided is the way these decisions were made and communicated. I don't want to unfairly shit on the admins, but many members were upset for a while and saw this coming. First there was the feedback thread, which was locked away and hidden rather quickly. Then we had the announcement of the restructure, which had a pretty small time window for people to react, and admins didn't seem interested in feedback. What made things worse was the message that they spoke with "prominent" members of the community to get feedback, which made people feel alienated. And clearly things didn't go as they planned.
I feel like this could have been avoided with more transparency, less rushing of things and in general having more open conversations about these decisions. Can we please have some constructive discussion here about how things will and should be handled going forward?

honestly I have no idea what I missed, but I guess it wasn't popular? the things I miss when I decide to go out drinking instead of hanging out all night on the internet, when will I learn
It would have been fine if there was a "hide OTs" option, but there wasn't. The separation between Entertainment and EtcetEra was alright, lumping the OTs wasn't as much.
So I'm trying to understand here...when they said "prominent members," were they talking about prominent OT makers or just "famous" Era members?
