Walk all the time, great given I have to go both up and down a good hill for a few miles before I even get close to the city centre. As long as it isn't raining I'll try to walk to and from work a few times a week.

I try to walk every day, if not actually walking about, then using an elliptical or stationary bike. exercise is helping with my weight and my blood sugar tends to show a good effect after some exercise. Unfortunately, it' a bit arm right now to go walking outside otherwise I'd do it more.

Hiking in Colorado is the best, our mountains are so beautiful.

Don't like to walk more than a few miles in the city just because intersections lead to a lot of waiting

To me, walking alone outside in the early morning or late evening with no music is absolutely the most therapeutic activity I can imagine. Since I work a desk job, I try to get up a bit before 5 AM and get an hour long walk in followed by a cold shower, and I'm good to go for the day.

I take a walk on break at work everyday. Very therapeutic when I'm just sitting around all day otherwise

Yea I like walking and exploring. It's a nice break from work and it's a nice way to discover new things. Walking long distances everyday isn't fun anymore though.

Nah, I find it boring as fuck unfortunately. Was in a situation a few months ago where I had some multi hour walks and I just don't see the appeal.

Ohio sucks for walkers. I'd do it all the time if I lived in a big city. It's pretty stigmatize here. You get stared at like you're some hobo. So you have to jog in exercise clothes lol.

I would like to find a way to make walking not a miserable experience, but after walking a while my back hurts, I'm sweaty as hell, and I'm just really, really, really bored. It really is something I should learn to like though, because it provides great mental and physical health benefits.

Why does music and podcast seem more enjoyable when you're moving? Sometimes I pace around my apartment with headphones on.

I like to walk sometimes. Other times I don't. It depends on how I feel.

Some days I could walk for a while, and find that it helps to clear my head.

when I'm walking around is serious the only time I'm not interested in listening to music.

I feel disoriented, almost dizzy, with headphones on. Even worse if they're noise cancelling.

Even now as I sit in at my desk in my bedroom I'm most comfortable with open backed headphones at extremely low volume. It's like having little speakers on my shoulders, I can still clearly hear everything around me.

I live in Scotland, walking is basically our national pat time. When my son gets a bit older we are gonna start doing something called Munro bagging. Which is essentially walking up every classified hill in Scotland. Basically the hill needs to be over 3000 feet. Currently there are 282 hills classified as Munros in Scotland but the reward of getting to the top is worth it.

I try to get about 5+ miles every day. I've lost over 100 pounds in the last year with walking as my only form of exercise.

My BF finds it absurdly boring. I love walking and there are some nice trails in Madrid but it takes some planning and I'll be honest, the cat callers deter me a bit.

Can I move there? Looks super relaxing, kinda like a paradise in a way for some reason.

Yeah, walking is great. I need to do it more often. Where I live I can't just walk out tho, I have to drive some ways to actually do a walk that I'd enjoy.

Naw, walking sucks. I walk all the time since I live downtown and have a job where I'm on my feet a lot. Still hate it.
Only thing worse is running. Unless I'm being chased I ain't fucking running.

We don't get much pleasant weather during the summer, and it's quite humid in the morning and at night. Instead, I do a controlled walk on a gym treadmill--30-45 minutes, 3 mph, and at the highest incline. Each treadmill has a personal TV, so I get to watch stuff like The Golden Girls or MASH while working out. Of course, nothing's as nice as a brisk walk outside in cool weather! (I just have to have someone hold up the TV for me while I'm out and about walking.)

Walking is fantastic. If I didn't have to be at work I'd be out walking right now.

One of my favourite walking spots is an old abandoned railroad track that slithers like a snake through the woods and fields of the countryside where I live. You come across all sorts of animals there, and practically never any pesky humans that ruin the walking mood.

I love a good walk, even in the rain. It's just relaxing and sometimes I get to go through areas I haven't before which adds to it. It also gives me time to collect my thoughts. The added health benefits are a big plus too.

I use to walk a lot when i'm at my house up in the mountains here, in northern Italy. Lots of good trails in the woods. Don't listen to anything but the sound of the forest and my own thoughts :)

Great for your health and mind too.

Walking is also really good for your health. It's an easy way to get your heart rate going for several hours. Also gives you a great ass if you do it on a regular basis.
Just walking down streets/paths doesn't really do much for fitness aside from some fresh air, if you aren't living in a mountainous area.

I lile to go through the city center, park or forrest, but I'm on my feet walking most of the day anyway.

Sure. I actually prefer walking and riding a bike to sitting in a car. I like fast driving, don't get me wrong. But traffic is horrible.

Walking and riding a bike seems to make people feel happier, by the way. I fully agree.
I only take a car if the distance is too big.

A huge part of the motivation for my wife and I to buy a house last year very near downtown Indy is so we could walk places. It's been wonderful, although I enjoy it a lot less in the summer.

I wish I had places to walk to to motivate me, cause I find it really hard to just go walk around the neighborhood. I still do, but not as much as I'd like. I used to walk a mile to a grocery store a few times a week, but I can't do that anymore.

It depends. If theres some greenery like grass and trees, they can help lower the heart rate and blood pressure. Excessive noise from cars and construction can be detrimental however to health as well as pollution.

I have no car so I walk a lot, if only on my way to/from public transit, but also to the grocery and such.

I wouldn't want to live in a place where one needs a car to go anywhere. It was the case back when I lived with my parents, and I hated it.
