Yes, it's an awesome machine. I upgraded from the S and have never regretted it.Quick question, I have the S and a 4K tv. Should I upgrade to a X if I find a good deal this holiday season?

It supersamples all X enhanced games over 1080p so it will look like a super tidy 1080p picture :-) Plus you get all the other added visual effects on X enhanced games. Non-enhanced games receive a 16xAF forced too :-)How's the X on 1080p screens? I'm picking one up soon to get back into Forza and some exclusives.

Anyone else have the issue where the fields for Download speed, Upload speed and Packet loss are all blank when you run Detailed network statistics?
The only results I get are Latency 75 ms and MTU 1480z
Are the xbox one x enhanced updates automatically downloaded? I have a regular xbox but want to eventually get the x.
So i just applied some Arctic Silver 5 to the APU on my Xbox One X, the paste that was on there was already flaky and dry so im not sure what type of paste they are using but must be cheap stuff what ever it is.
This is what the thing looked like when i took it apart.....
all cleaned up....
and then with the thermal past applied...
Havent properly tried it out yet just leaving the Xbox idling on the dash so the thermal paste can settle thoroughly at the moment
Whenever you decide on getting an X, you can toggle an option in Settings to download the enhancements first on your regular Xbox. That way you can transfer the downloads over to the X via an external hard drive or network transfer instead of needing to wait to download the enhancements after getting the new console. Are the xbox one x enhanced updates automatically downloaded? Gotta say I don't like the UI at ALL (this is my first time with XB1, used to have a 360.) Seems pretty messy and can be difficult to navigate, but oh well.
Bought the X yesterday as I got it cheap after trading in my launch PS4 and some stuff.

Don't really even know what to do with it yet aside from playing SOTN, RDR & Witcher 2.
Get Gamepass if you haven't already. Many games on there from this gen which you missed since you never had an XB1 before.
Came in here with the same issue, except I'm not even using an external. Auto-updates setting is checked but I'm still not getting anything installed.Does anybody else have the issue of game updates not automatically downloading when the system is in rest mode or whatever? i turn on my console, and see i have updates for 9 games. Why aren't these automatically downloading when the console is in stand-by?
I'm using an external HDD and the "When Xbox is off, turn off storage" box is unchecked.
Go to xboxclips.com. There will be a gamertag bar, top left. Type in your gamertag and you should see the videos and screenshots you have published. What's the best way to get the 4k HDR screenshots I have in the console? Definitely not by sharing them to twitter nor saving them from the phone app
I use xboxdvr for clips and never thought about checking the screenshots from there. So I'll always get the 4k hdr screenshots from there then?Go to xboxclips.com. There will be a gamertag bar, top left. Type in your gamertag and you should see the videos and screenshots you have published.
www.xboxdvr.com does the same thing.

I just got an Xbox One S, so happy. Question for the technical peeps: using my free trial of Game Pass, if I end up buying a game physically that I downloaded from gamepass, do I have to delete and reinstall the game and download patches when my trial runs out? Or will it convert the already downloaded game to physical? Thanks!
Congrats on the purchase - an xbox + a few months of game pass is a great way to experience the platform, especially with Forza Horizon 4 out so soon.
In my experience, you're good. I've mixed & matched various games between disk installs, online trials etc, and had zero trouble. But I can't say it's a 100% across the board experience because I don't know if it's a system wide 'rule' to keep the installed package the same - I suspect it just 'works' for most titles that don't have any weird title configurations.

Holy shit sorry to hear that! How?well my xbox one x was stolen unfortunately. Pretty devastated as it was my only current gen system and I used some of my tax return to buy it. At least I have my 360 in storage.
AD/SAP button or DATA button? To anyone else with an LG B7 (or even similar I imagine), this is driving me nuts and it should be so damn simple.
What button do I need to press on the remote to see the current image settings? Like just a quick glance at what resolution is currently being output, hz, etc. etc. I saw it once and cannot find it again, and it is driving me nuts.
I just want to see the current video settings for whatever is currently being displayed.
Yep, well kind of sort of. Have to press the SAP button, press Info, then press the top of the screen, the press the info at the top of the screen to get it to display the details.
Hi Resetera, I've been planning to buy an X1X later this year, and started researching into whether it had problems (owned Xbox original, 360, and now PS4, faced problems in both xboxes, so thought about doing some research before I buy).
My question now is, exactly how much of a problem is the thermal paste issue in X1X's? Are there different model numbers/bundles/editions where this problem has been solved? After searching online for the past several hours, it seems like a lot of early adopters faced this issue, mainly with the Scorpio edition. However, unlike the 360 I haven't been able to find any serial/model numbers for X1X and the differences between them.
Since I'm new to this OT, and not very much versed in the updates that X1X had in the last year, would be very much appreciated if someone who is can help me out :)
Seems like I found out the hard way that my Sony TV doesn't support HDR with Xbox One X. It's odd because:
- It's model number is KDL-43W750E, and the Sony website specs says the HDR is HDR10
- I've set the HDMI mode to Enhanced. It says that Enhanced allows it to display 2k HDR content (the TV is not 4k but 1080p)
- Some users say that Sony TVs support HDR in HDMI port 2. There's only 2 ports in this TV, and I've tried both
- I also had a PS4, and it automatically switched to HDR mode when HDR content came on. E.g. Fifa 18
- The Xbox at least recognizes HDR to some extent - when I set the HDMI mode to Advanced, in the video settings of Xbox One X, the "Allow HDR" checkbox changes from greyed out to active. However, even if the checkbox is checked, in the 4K TV Details it still says that HDR10 is not available, games won't show in HDR etc etc
- I've also tried out the Insects app. Nope, HDR toggle with the Y button is greyed out
TV is probably HDR8, but then why would PS4 support it and not Xbox One X? Also, why is "Allow HDR" available with the "Enhanced" HDMI mode then?
Yup sounds like a dying internal HDD. A E102/105 error will probably pop up soonI think that my X is somehow "dying" ?
Couldn't install FH4 to my internal without the "Installation stopped" message popping up everytime I try to hit "Install". It would install 12% of the game and just stop, and then pressing "Install" triggered "Installation stopped".
(Stuff like that started to happen with updating some games just a couple of weeks ago)
Installing it right now to my external. Everyhting is going smoothly.
Internal hard drive RIP ?
Mine is always signed in on the PC and the Xbox One X. Do you mean this to be anything other than signed on? Playing the same game on PC and Xbox at the same time? etc.Question about how XBL accounts work? Is it possible to use the same account on an Xbox and a PC at the same time? Or when i sign into the account on the pc, is it going to kick the xbox off the account?

Just edited my previous post just in case this question came up lol. Quick reply is, "no" for the same game. I'm playing Sea of Thieves on the Xbox One X, and the Forza Horizon 4 demo on the PC at the same time, same accounts. Was wondering if it is possible to play the same game or even different games for that matter?
