BotW and Horizon both had towers and did incredibly well. And unlike those games, according to Brandon Jones you can unlock all of them in about an hour, so they're not deeply ingrained in this game's dna.86-89
Ubi-tower syndrome man. Some reviewers aren't gonna like that.
You guys are nuts if you think this is getting above about 72. Reviewers just do not like these games anymore and I feel the same way. I am fucking sick of this open world formula. Te whole game looks bland and lacks the usual insomniac spirit. Looks like it is taking itself way too seriously.

I'm in that 86-89 crowd. I think the mission structure and repetitive activity stuff will be where it's knocked. So potentially lower, but I think the hype and PS exclusivity will carry it a bit.

Yea, what I saw of the story didn't sell me on a cool overarching narrative but we'll see.
I will say this, Rocksteady setting all the Arkham games in a single night was pretty genius from a narrative standpoint, due to the momentum and pacing that imbues the story with. Plus you can easily sum up the hook of the plot as "Batman X over a single night"Yea, what I saw of the story didn't sell me on a cool overarching narrative but we'll see.
Agreed. I don't think there's a single Arkham title I didn't enjoy. And that structure like you said really helped it stay on point and feeling interconnected even in the open world titles.I will say this, Rocksteady setting all the Arkham games in a single night was pretty genius from a narrative standpoint, due to the momentum and pacing that imbues the story with. While this story seems like it's paced more slowly, takes its time to build up given that it takes place over a longer time and shifts to the perspective of other characters.

Going by the accuracy of your predictions in the World Cup thread I'd say it's looking pretty good for Spiderman. You guys are nuts if you think this is getting above about 72. I don't think critics care about innovation as much as this forumAs much as I hope it's good enough to be above 90. It's lacking the innovation that AAA games need to get that high.
86-89. It was always gonna fall there. Side note why the hell is this and most stuff based on PDT/PST? Most of the US is living on the east coast. Why the hell do we suffer with crap like this. Everything should be EST/EDT. Everything. I'm sick of this west coast based shit.
I expect it will probably be mid to high 80s, but the unconscious review bias from Sony having had really good exclusives may bump it right around 90 or a tad higher. I do think that I personally will likely have more fun playing Spider-Man than God of War, which got too repetetive/grindy and was a little too pretentious with the "will make you a better Dad" garbage surrounding it and such.
