You guys are nuts if you think this is getting above about 72. Reviewers just do not like these games anymore and I feel the same way. I am fucking sick of this open world formula. Te whole game looks bland and lacks the usual insomniac spirit. Looks like it is taking itself way too seriously.

86-89

Ubi-tower syndrome man. Some reviewers aren't gonna like that.
BotW and Horizon both had towers and did incredibly well. And unlike those games, according to Brandon Jones you can unlock all of them in about an hour, so they're not deeply ingrained in this game's dna.

I'm in that 86-89 crowd. I think the mission structure and repetitive activity stuff will be where it's knocked. So potentially lower, but I think the hype and PS exclusivity will carry it a bit.

And who even plays single player games anymore? Just look at how God Of War did.

I expect it will probably be mid to high 80s, but the unconscious review bias from Sony having had really good exclusives may bump it right around 90 or a tad higher. I do think that I personally will likely have more fun playing Spider-Man than God of War, which got too repetetive/grindy and was a little too pretentious with the "will make you a better Dad" garbage surrounding it and such.

Yea, what I saw of the story didn't sell me on a cool overarching narrative but we'll see.
I will say this, Rocksteady setting all the Arkham games in a single night was pretty genius from a narrative standpoint, due to the momentum and pacing that imbues the story with. Plus you can easily sum up the hook of the plot as "Batman X over a single night"

While this story seems like it's paced more slowly, takes its time to build up given that it takes place over a longer time and shifts to the perspective of other characters.

I'll bet that will be scored 91, but then lower to 90 after the first round of reviews.

Still a impressive number for a new Spider-Man game!

Agreed. I don't think there's a single Arkham title I didn't enjoy. And that structure like you said really helped it stay on point and feeling interconnected even in the open world titles.

I'm sure I'm going have a blast with this though. I need to get everything set up on my 500 million PS4. I've been putting it off to play WoW with friends.

86-89 for me, depending on the story and how some of the likely repetition of activities is handled. It will certainly be a great game and will do well, but it won't be "Ultra-defining this game made me cry" level of fandom.

For some reason I was certain that GOW would get a 90+ score.

With Spidey I'm thinking 85-90. Which would be amazing for a licensed game like this.

86-89 with a settle at about 87. Previews have been really glowing, but, in the end, it's less about doing something new and ambitious, and more about fulfilling a demand within the gaming community that's been there since Ultimate Spider-Man released on the Gamecube/Xbox/PS2. That said, depending on how things pan out with other aspects of the game outside swinging and combat, I could see it going higher.

86-89. It was always gonna fall there. Side note why the hell is this and most stuff based on PDT/PST? Most of the US is living on the east coast. Why the hell do we suffer with crap like this. Everything should be EST/EDT. Everything. I'm sick of this west coast based shit.

Going by the accuracy of your predictions in the World Cup thread I'd say it's looking pretty good for Spiderman.

As much as I hope it's good enough to be above 90. It's lacking the innovation that AAA games need to get that high.

Crazy high expectations for this game. I hope it delivers. I'm confident it'll deliver in some aspects, but I'm finding it really difficult to foresee and 90+ score

Shit I'm a Nintendo guy and I think Spidey looks like gold. Thinking about selling my Xbox, which I use somewhat regularly but don't have brand loyalty towards like N, and grabbing a Pro just for Spider-Man.

When I was playing that great Batman Arkham games, I always dreamed that kind of Spider game in a corner of my damn mind. Insomniac makes a fucking dream for me and the game looks absolutely awesome. I bet 90+

Huh? Don't you know the west coast is the centre of the universe? Get with the program, dude.

Going for 89-92 range depending on amount of content and variety.

Only thing that worries me about this game is just the writing, but cant wait to play

Rationally speaking...

Sony and Insomniac wouldn't choose that review date embargo if they weren't confident in a product that will review well.

It was Nintendo bias. Now it's Sony bias...

Hoping it's over 90, if so I Will but it.

What Ive seen of the game doesnt look really interesting. (quests and action sequences seem to be extremely scripted).

Hopefully the whole campaign won't be like that.
