I have no doubt the writing is gonna be good. The talent on it is nuts.

I'm mostly concerned about it not looking the best. Hopefully the IGN review is closer to being correct and it was just a bad trailer.

I think it looks great but I have a very high tolerance for slow frame rates. I'm pretty stoked.

Review seemed more of a recap describing the story so I skimmed it mostly as I'd rather enjoy that discovery for myself. I didn't seem to see anywhere the reviewer talking about the janky animation from that trailer before.

The trailer doesn't really tell us much about the actual story or about the show in general. The animation looks good though.

Not a fan if cgi style shows, shame as this has potential.

Hopefully it was just a bad trailer. I can't imagine giving a 9/10 with such jarring animation. Even RWBY looks better, and that show can look pretty bad at times.

Clicked first page, was incredibly hyped. Skipped to last page, saw the CG and instantly dismayed. Hoo boy that trailer was bad too.

I am glad a lot of anime has the sense to only use CG for background filler, because it looks terrible always.

Looks like another RWBY situation where the characters are gonna have to carry the show, despite the look and movement.

There had better be some bloody Dragons in it with that name. Actually, there bloody better be a dragon in the Primary damn cast with that*name!

Man, I do wish the animation wasn't so ass

The fact that it looks better when you turn up the speed (not perfect but better) still makes me wonder why they decided to go with such a low frame rate look to the animations. It currently makes things look like... they...'re... go...ing.... so.... sl....ow... and thensuddenly veryveryfast!

I will definitely watch the first episode but really hope the framerate won't bother me as much as it did in the trailer.

Yeah, I have a lot of faith in Ehasz. Dudes great.
Yeah, I'm really excited for this. I also really like the art style/character design on first impression so while the framerate is certainly choppy it didn't bother me too much atm, helped by some good camera angles (all three things of which were bad together in that Berserk TV series lol), and certainly not to the point I wouldn't give this a shot given its potential.

This looked awesome at SDCC.

Hoping the fandom doesn't become absurdly toxic and ruin the series for me like the Korra and Voltron fandoms did.
Agreed, I love both of those shows. I'd watched season one live on my own but I did still enjoy watching with one of the Avatar forums during the live airings when I later found it and started reading and posting a little during them somewhere starting during season 2 and mainly during 3 and 4, like some of the live watches here. So it wasn't all bad.

Binging both of the first two seasons of Voltron back to back, with it being so continuous, was pretty amazing since I'd gotten to it late.

I'm all about that elf assassin.
Same.

Korra was also partly screwed over by Nickelodeon since they only allowed them 1 season at first, so things ended up wrapping unfavorably. Then they were only allowed season 2... Then only after that were they allowed season 3 and 4. I think the show would have been better off if it had 4 from the start.

SO glad this is on Netflix
Agreed, it was pretty ridiculous that they did that to the team for Korra after the success that ATLA brought the network. I think the progression of the overall story would have been much smoother had they known they had 4 seasons from the start, even if they decided to still keep the contained seasons structure for the villains. Which likely would have in turn removed some of the stuff that's disliked about early season 2 when they forcefully half-reset things with the characters.
