I want Herman to succeed. I can't stand Saban and don't want him bringing his circus to Austin.

I've never understood this whole Saban to Texas nonsense. There is literally nothing UT can offer he doesn't already have at Alabama.

Alabama floated between good and mediocre for a better part of a decade before Saban. The coach matters more than anything else in CFB.

When did I deny this? And how does it contradict anything I said?

Hint: It doesn't.

My man, Saban's not coming. Lmao unless he's still coaching during that home and home series, he's not walking through that door.

Based on the last few years, succeeding at Texas would offer an actual challenge.
So...boredom? Saban is a type A control freak who gets pretty much everything his way, and doesn't have to worry about outside interference meddling with his program. Saban doesn't care about boredom, not after the NFL failure. He doesn't care if Austin has more amenities than Tuscaloosa, he cares about winning.

The coach in CFB is absolutely integral, but also the fit to the program is important. Some coaches can turn shit programs to decent and decent to great, but nobody can make a shit program great for more than a year at a time. Neither have they had to, since they get continually poached.

But Bama fans must have short memories to forget the 97-07 period of almost unilateral garbage teams they had. If Saban leaves, unless they get the next Saban or Saban-lite, they are mortal or potentially even bad again. It happened to Florida, Texas, Miami, Nebraska, USC, Notre Dame, Washington, etc.

Just saying, that once Saban retires, it could be 25 years before Bama is great again. The time between Bryant and Saban wasn't great for Bama.

Why does the TV say Auburn Washington but Ohio St. vs Oregon St. is what's on?

What channel is the good game on?

Giving up 31 to Oregon State is concerning but I keep forgetting we have quite a few new starters on D so I think it will be fine. Offensively though I think Haskins is the QB we needed to go to the next level.

I could only listen to the Ohio State game until the final 5 minutes but offense sounded good. Defense could be better but first game and all. Will improve hopefully.

Yep. He had timing, accuracy, vision, and he threw most balls where only his reciever would catch it. He's the real deal. Best of all there is a clear separation between him and Martell.
