The change seems reasonable enough to me. It's reversing the decision in the old place to split (etcetera) community threads into their own subforum; the whole reason behind that was to prevent high-participation community threads from burying new threads. The entertainment/etcetera split will just give them more visibility, and because they'll be mixed in with regular threads they'll naturally get a lot more views. And if they end up cluttering the main entertainment/etcetera thread in the future, then that's when you re-evaluate the entertainment/etcetera split or the lack of a community subforum for them.
Like, it's pretty difficult to build a new community unless you advertise in a lot of different threads, or have a big thing to rally everyone together beforehand (like a game release; or better yet, a series of games. Or a general thing like sports or something).
I was only hesitant about it at first because from the title, it's like it's quarantining "politics" into etcetera and leaving entertainment for everything else, but they make it clear that's not the case.
So all in all, I don't see the big deal.
This all seems logical. I'm probably gonna reassess all this in the morning.
Here's a good image.
Goodnight all.
