Each game allows you to view the amount of times it's been downloaded and poor ol' Punch Out doesn't seem to be getting much love! China have good taste in Mario games though.

Seems abysmal. Gotta think they'd be doing way more... everywhere else

Then again, Nvidia Shield exclusive

Gee Nintendo, would be nice to be able to play these on the switch...you know, the newest system?

This is such an odd experiment. I wonder if it was part of the terms of the deal between nvidia and Nintendo that nvidia would get to sell Nintendo games on shield in China.

I can't tell if you're sarcastic. These are sales on a niche platform in a country where Nintendo has traditionally next to no official presence. These numbers aren't representative of what Nintendo games would sell on other platforms.

It is strange that they aren't using these HD ports to fill the gaps in the Switch schedule. I know they are afraid of high-quality legacy software taking players time and money away from new full-priced titles but they would at least make the mid-year drought a little easier to endure.

It does make you wonder if Nintendo will ever allow anything between the NES and Wii U to exist on the Switch.

Are they running in HD?

Would be a crazy missed opportunity to have basically nothing from the snes, 64, gc, wii, gb/ba, or ds on the switch.

I can see why they are hesitating though. If you have the choice between spending $20 on a HD version of Wind Waker, Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess, and $60 on Breath of the Wild, a lot of people will just go for the cheaper Zelda experience. NES games aren't an issue because they offer such a crude experience relative to modern expectations, but a game like Mario Galaxy HD offers a comparable if not superior product to Mario Odyssey.

It's difficult to put these in a context but I have no doubt in my mind that all of them would sell more on Switch. It's just annoying to know that these exist and that Nintendo hasn't even acknowledged them really.

Are they running in HD?

This is a really good video that goes into detail about them (spoiler: yes, they're technically in HD but an unconventional resolution of 1920x1404 with black borders at the top and bottom that add up to 30px)

I mean nintendo had no problem putting a 4 year old Tropical freeze port for 10$ higher than it was back on the original launch. WWhd is older, so they could sell it at $60 again.

There's no gap in the Switch schedule to be placed tho Even in months without fp titles (August and January this year, August and November last year), there was big thid party and indies to supply it.

Jealous of the prices of the Wii ports for Shield.
Nintendo will just pretend this doesn't exist.

68 RMB is about ten dollars, but this product does have to compete with a fairly robust piracy market. Also, Nintendo is not very well known in China compared to other markets. I wonder how well this Shield product has sold in China? I imagine not very well. Hopefully these get localized down the line.

There's no context. How many Shields are sold through in China?

As far as posters whining or wondering these aren't available on Switch, Nintendo's has seemingly made the correct decision at every juncture with Switch so so far, including the things they're not doing. Why unceremoniously drop these titles among the indie gold Rush, when you could, for example, be adding these to the Nintendo Online service with added functionality 4 years from now?

I have no idea whether this is good or not. No clue what the Nvidia shield store is like or how many people even own one.

I dont think we will ever see online games on the Switch service aside from NES/SNES.

If you have issues with the Switch release schedule, more ports aren't really the solution.

This isn't a problem on other platforms either. Many Nintendofans will just buy both.

And as said earlier, it's not like the Switch is drowning in games this year.

What gaps and how do ports fill gaps :P

The only port I think would really benefit the Switch is Xenoblade Chronicles X to carry all the new fans of Chronicles 2.

It's also a game that got overlooked more than others on the Wii U even by Nintendo fandom standards.

I still hope we see these on Switch at some point too. I think DKCR and Mario Kart Wii (with online play)were also recently confirmed for Shield.

I guess becuase it was nvidea who ported these then Nintendo don't have access to their work. That's why they're not on switch. Twilight princess and wind walker are probably coming in March anyway.

What gaps? Between Nintendo's verdant evergreen forest and the Indie Gold Rush, there's no gaps in the release schedule, only gaps in taste.

This information doesn't communicate much without knowing the attach rate (and, by necessity, number of Nvidia Shields sold in China).
